Only issue with MG is Brandy.

MG is Brandy's brother-in-law.

After the Johns brothers debacle do we really want people who are related to each other working alongside each other?

I’d prefer Corey over Kevvie. f**k that’s terrible news to wake up to.

News Ltd shat all over The Footy Show and Fatty for years but he just kept going along. Wasn’t the greatest but a genuine bloke. The Super League era show was must watch Thursday night tv. Lost its way once Matty hammed it up every second and they began drawing out its run time. Sterlo and Fatty possess a corner of my footy heart because before I had Pay tv, 9 did run the game Friday night Sunday arvo and they were a big part of it. A true colour man and analyst before they crammed a dozen retirees in to every broadcast.

Welders article today goes on about how News ltd had a vendetta against Vautin

Could anyone please post for overseas readers ?
After engaging in a two-decade-long campaign against The Footy Show and its hosts, it is good to see that News Corp has maintained a consistent stance when it comes to the retiring Paul Vautin and many of those who were associated with the program.
Vautin’s decision to end his 33-year television career has had minimal coverage in the News Corp media – which is disproportionate, given his standing as a presenter and a trailblazer for the likes of Fox Sports’ Matthew Johns, whose light-entertainment footy show is based on a similar format.

It is impossible to discount what Vautin did in front of the camera, but News Corp are trying to do that anyway.
The man who discovered Vautin and gave him his chance on TV, former Channel Nine head of sport Gary Burns, who was a trailblazer himself, did not hold back.
Speaking of the attacks on Vautin and the show, which was axed in 2018 after 24 years, Burns said: “It was relentless – especially from News Ltd newspapers. A lot of it started with Super League when Fatty [Vautin] and Sterlo [Peter Sterling] were very loyal to the ARL. But it continued on throughout the show’s run.
“There is no doubt some of that was jealousy of its success and influence. Fat wasn’t particularly troubled by it – he operated to his own values and truths, as did Sterlo, and he was encouraged by his popularity and support out there in the community. He [Vautin] didn’t live on Graceland, he was out doing games and mixing with the fans.”

Gout Gout makes history in the 200m sprint as he breaks a 56-year Australian record.
It was interesting to note that the limited News Corp coverage of Vautin’s retirement was lifted from this column, where the news was broken, but putting a critical spin on why he was retiring.
None of this would register with Vautin because he’s used to attacks from certain parts of the media, and these days he would barely read an article that is written about him.
It is also worth noting that no one from the NRL reached out to Vautin to congratulate him on his iconic career. You can imagine if a News Corp figure of note was snubbed the pile-on would be huge.
The public’s reaction has been enormous, with so many people reminiscing about Vautin’s career.

Just listened to Mark Bouris' latest Straight Talk podcast with Ray Hadley.

Looks very much like he's heading to Fox League. Oh dear, Hadley, Walters...the dumbing down continues.

Wonder how Vossy is feeling about his old mate coming on board ?

f**k no. Those were dark times on Nein in the period after Voss was fired, you had Hadley as a regular commentator. Dire stuff.
Still remember someone calling his radio show a few days before a grand final and asking him that since he has replaced Vossy as #2 commentator would he call the under 20s grand final.

Say what you like about Voss, he is a genuine super fan of the game.
