Commentators your best and worst

Firstly, I have to say that Cooper Cronk is the worst commentator I have ever heard. He makes me want to inject acid into my ears. So painful and the reason I wrote this thread. He has the most annoying stupid voice, makes me so angry!

For the Fox NRL player commentators
1. Mick Ennis
2. Braith Anasta
3. Greg Alexander
Should be sacked immediately: Cooper Cronk

Who are your favourite and least favourite commentators?

Rabbits, Sterlo, Ennis,. Used to like Vossy but he yells to much. Scary how many ex players are earning a living in the game by talking in clichés and offering any detailed analysis and predictions ( see Laurie Daly ! ) Like Ennis as he says his mind.

Whilst cronk’s voice is like listening to a heavy metal version of Enya, I find he’s actually one of the best technical analysts in the game..

Would much rather hear his raspy view than blocker or Braiths whine

Agree with the comments re Cronk, he knows what he is talking about, though that doesn't make him a good commentator. its just his voice throughout the game drives me mad, I'd be more satisfied with a dental drill. They should just keep him for that table at half and full time.

I like Rabs and Vossy, and I actually like Cronk because he gives a good technical insight as said above. On the other hand, Dan Ginnane is just so annoying. He sounds like's drowning all the time and his commentary sucks tbh

Andy Raymond is the best as he enjoys footy

The rest just want to create controversy for the sake of it (the reason why he lost his job on 9 as he didn't tow the company line)

Do yourself a favour and watch it with the sound off

I don't mind Vossy as a commentator - even when he has his moments, he's not too bad. Warren Smith OK and Matt Russell Ok. Don't watch channel 9 any more but Rabs was also OK - especially in his younger days. I don't mind Ennis or Braith. Sterling is the best analyst. Lots of time for Sterlo.

Lost respect for Cronk over his attitude on NRL 360 over his being both at Melbourne and the Roosters. His voice has become more annoying as time has gone on. Lost some respect for Alexander too over his attitude on no NRL 360 over not letting Burton be released. I totally understand not releasing him but it was just Brandy's attitude. That said he's not too bad as a commentator's offsider. Not a fan of Corey Parker or Tallis. Haven't minded Tim Mannah on NRL tonight or Spudd.

Ginnane's voice is a bit annoying and he over dramatises things.
The one I can't stand is Blocker. The man can't speak English. The thing that really gets my goat is him calling the in-goal area the 'in gold area'. Someone needs to tell him. Just dumb from an ex international footballer who should know what it's called!

Out of the women hosts - by far my favourite is Lara Pitt (and as a bonus, she supports St George) but none of the women offend me. Prefer Hannah Hollis and Jess Yates to Yvonne Sampson though.

I'm beginning to think that most of the commentators we currently have on 9 and Fox, except for Lara Pitt, have an agenda with the Dragons. Most don't give a shit and treat us like we are the laughing stock of the NRL. What with the 9 years of the Price/McGregor embarrassment, the JDB affair, the Corey Norman incident and the way no-one from our club stands up for the Dragons and has a go at the NRL or what ever happens to make us the ones in nearly every change of rules be the club that cops it the most.

They are all LOL and would be so glad to see us decimated.

We have been very bold in the games played so far. Our players are not world beaters but they have been trying hard to keep pace with the top teams but now that we have lost a lot of our players after Round 10, keeping up with the leaders will be extremely difficult and will be hard to remain in the top 8.

Hopefully the spirit of the Dragons will not be lost when the replacements take the field over the next 5-6 weeks and give it their best shot.

I like Mick Ennis. Voss called our game yesterday so I watched it on nine, enough said.

After the Magic round they are all a pain in the arse.....from the head high, shoulder charge, hip drop (now theres a fancy name) compression tackle, lead with the head, chicken wing, twisted his knee, dived at the legs, late tackle, tackled in the air, stripping the ball, lifted above the horizontal his shoe laces are undone..you name it they sensationalized everything....as Ive stated before I dont condone any form of foul play but these blokes go out of their way to highlight any form of infringement no matter how insignificant it is......and they are becoming louder and louder everyweek....its more about hearing them than commentating on the actualy game....and finally what pisses me off the most is when Johns, Lockyer Fittler or whoever shoves a microphone in a players face when they are coming off at half time....end of rant

Can barely listen to Dan Ginnane, he's appalling. Don't mind Vossy, especially if don't want to take it too seriously, Warren Smith and Matt Russell are OK. Most of the "great" ex-players like Johns, Thurston etc. are terrible, Sterlo hands down the best analyst in the last 30 years.

I remember Warren Boland, who was really no more than a decent first grade winger, being an excellent commentator back in the 80's and 90's. Makes you wonder how good some ex-players might be if they were given a go and Nine in particular didn't just go for high profile players.
