Hodges signs for four
August 14, 2007 TEST and State of Origin centre Justin Hodges will remain with Brisbane Broncos club until the end of the 2011 NRL season, after signing with the premier for another four years today.
Hodges, who returned to the Broncos from the Sydney Roosters two seasons ago on a budget basement deal, had his terms significantly upgraded.
Negotiations have gone on for several months and Brisbane chief executive Bruno Cullen today confirmed the deal has finally been signed off.
Widely regarded as one of the game's premier centres, Hodges was a priority signing for Brisbane, with several senior players - including Petero Civoniceva, Brad Thorn and Shaun Berrigan - departing at the end of the season.
Cullen conceded Hodges is a potential future captain, along with young fullback Karmichael Hunt, when skipper Darren Lockyer retires, which won't be until at least 2010.
