Anthony Milford signs a four year deal with the Broncos.

"ANTHONY Milford will sign a $4 million contract extension with the Broncos on Sunday after today rejecting a club-record $1.2 million offer from the Melbourne Storm.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Milford will sacrifice $800,000 to remain at the Broncos as he prepares to ink a deal keeping him at Red Hill until the end of 2021.

Wayne Bennett vowed he would not lose the fight for Milford and the Broncos super coach has delivered, securing the playmaker he is grooming to be a 10-year Brisbane player."

I can't help but think Bellamy's pulled a swifty on Benny . . . paying extras for a player that is barely worth what he's already paid is a great pisstake

Sadly the playing fields in Brisbane same to be more level than anywhere else in the country. The Brooks have managed to stretch the cap again

Don't they still need a halfback since there's no way Bird plays in the halves?

They've got two running five-eighths then Kodi, and I doubt they'll run with Kodi as their 7.

Still worried as all hell they'll come after Ash Taylor.

He's at the Titans until the end of 2018, hopefully the NRL pulls its finger out and the salary cap mess is sorted and he can be offered marquee $$ to stay.

The Tits are going to have a huge fight on their hands to retain Taylor, the Cows are also looking for potential suitors for the #7 jersey once JT hangs them up. I'd be over the moon if we sign him but in a way it would be nice to see him remain a Titan and build them into a premiership threat in the years to come.

Yeah, but Brisbane just grab another paper bag out of the Thoroughbred's locker.

It doesn't really affect the pricks at all. Just another dip into the bottomless well.
Another reason there should be half the teams in Sydney, the water table would be less scrutinized and without the worry of tree huggers the remaining clubs could be allowed to dig down to meet Brisbane

Well the first obvious (and by far easiest) step is to put a second team in Brisbane.

But yes, it would seem inevitable that something has to give in Sydney eventually.....

Jason Taylor returning to the Sydney Roosters. He has re-signed with the Roosters as their assistant coach.

Is that because Holbrook is leaving, or did the Roosters want Taylor anyway before that happened?

It appears that it is because Holbrook is leaving.........

"Jason Taylor has returned to the Sydney Roosters as NRL coach Trent Robinson’s assistant.

Taylor replaces Justin Holbrook, who has signed with Super League club St Helens, for the remainder of the season.

Dumped Wests Tigers coach Taylor’s appointment at the Roosters is with immediate effect."

Canberra seems to have a history of having Fijian players. I wonder why the Cowboys don't look at this more closely. Surely the Townsville climate would be preferable to Canberra.
