Of course.

He is man of honour.......

My most enduring memory of him is when you could literally see him shit his britches when DCE announced he was joining the Titans instead of staying. He'd decided to jump ship weeks beforehand and wanted to wait for DCE to re-sign with Manly so he could blame him for getting 'squeezed out' of Manly.

Keiran Foran hasn't been in the category of player he is being bandied about as since precisely the match where Manly wore that stupid f**king Wolverine Jersey in August 2014.

Paying a million a year for a guy with bung hammies (Look at how he is running these days) and some serious off field issues in the same city as Heyson three years after he showed anything approaching consistent form is interesting, to say the least.

Agreed. I've always thought Foran was vastly overrated.

Forans a good player but he is limited. He's mostly a good running 5/8 which is great to have but i question spending more than a million a season on that. Especially when you come with all the baggage Foran has, plus the recent injuries and the fact that he hasn't really shown he is back to his best anyway. It has been years now since he was consistently performing.

I also think it's an interesting signing because one of the dogs problems is only having running 5/8s. Mbye and Reynolds both fit that mild and it meant the team was lacking in other areas (like a kicking game). So now they lose Reynolds and replace him with an even more expensive player who fits a similar mould.

Foran is a better player and I'm not saying they shouldn't have signed him. It is a pretty big gamble for that sort of money.

Foran is an organising/controlling half.

He will test the opposition with a run, but his strength is organising the players around him.

If you're behind with 5 to go he's not the one you look to, you look to him to keep you from getting behind with 5 to go to begin with.

He's Cronk light with additional baggage and dodgy hamstrings.

He's limited but his strengths are so damn good that if he can stay on the field he's one of the best players in the league.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of New Zealand international forward Russell Packer for the coming four NRL seasons.

The new agreement will see Packer join Wests Tigers for at least the end of 2021.

Packer has played 142 NRL games since making his debut in 2008 and three tests for New Zealand, the most recent being this month’s ANZAC Test in Canberra.

The 27-year-old has taken to the field for the New Zealand Warriors 110 times and the St George Illawarra Dragons on 32 occasions.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary said that he was looking forward to working with Packer again after giving him his debut in 2008.

"Russell has been one of the standout front-rowers in the NRL this season,” said Cleary.

“He’s a no-nonsense front rower, he really knows what his job is and he delivers and I think he’s only going to get better.

“I think he’s going to have a very strong leadership role here. He’s got a great story, a story of hard knocks and coming out the other side, and that will resonate with lots of the boys here.

“He’s very keen to help us regrow what we have here at Wests Tigers, and they’re the sort of guys we want on board,” he said.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that Packer’s experience on and off the field will be an asset to the club.

“I’m expecting Russell to bring a lot to Wests Tigers, both on and off the field,” said Pascoe.

“Here’s someone who has turned his life around and is now seeing the results of that change as he steps up to be one of the premier forwards in the game and returns to the International stage.

"As excited as we are with what he will bring to us during the game each week we’re equally excited with the role he’ll play at the club away from the football field,” he said.

“We’ve made some really strong signings over the last month and look forward to welcoming players such as Russell, Josh Reynolds, Ben Matulino and Chris McQueen to the club next season.”

Away from the field Packer is currently undertaking an MBA and was awarded the Mark Coyne Career Development Award for his ongoing studies at the University of Wollongong in 2016.

4 year deal....f**k me.

you can really see a post bennett knights situation being setup here
You're a gimp.

Packer is an elite forward coming into his prime and the sort of player every club would love to have in the engine room.

A 4 year deal for Rusty is some of the best business the Tigers will ever do.

Lel he's 28. A lot of good props running around are still 30+

The fact Dragons supporters are blowing up deluxe means we got a very good signing

Hard to fathom for you innit?
