It's a good signing for the Cowboys. McGuire didn't enjoy the best 2018, but before then he was one of the more consistent middle forwards in the game. With Taumalolo at lock, McGuire can focus more on rucking the ball up instead of relying on performing settlers.

It's going to hurt in the interim for the Broncos, but they've got plenty of young prospects coming through and certain parts of the side had grown stale. One player in particular, Patrick Carrigan is one of the brightest prospects coming through the grades and it's only a matter of time before he plays NRL. As a Broncos fan, I'd love to hold onto him, especially after losing Jai Arrow earlier.

Merrin gone from the Panthers...After a meeting with Gould.

Trent Merrin will link up with Leeds in the Super League after failing to secure a new Penrith deal in the NRL. The surprise move comes one week after Panthers boss Phil Gould declared Merrin would remain at the club.
