I think some of the signings are more because the players concerned, whilst no world beaters, will act as true professionals on the training paddock, off the field and on field (e.g. Drew Hutchinson) to try and set an example to the younger players already at the club. It's something I've seen Gus do before at different clubs with mixed results (e.g. Signing Paul Langmack to the Roosters in his last year as first grade coach, which was a monumental fail).

The other thing is, what quality halfback was on the market for season 2024? None that I can think of.

Its a shame, he was a talented guy, thought hed be a really good NRL centre
But it never panned out here, injuries derailed him a bit and he was.. to be honest, god awful last year. Just a complete and total liability coming off the ACL.
Hope he goes well at the titans. Ill be pulling for him
