we are well aware of Starling's deficiencies...I think he is decent enough now to know he is not a creative player at NRL level and not to overplay his hand every ruck. Can defend well too. As a second choice hooker in a squad that's enough.
Where as a guy like Josh Starling (not picking on him because he's a Raider) has a habit of making the wrong choice at the ruck. He also can't pass from dummy half but then again neither could Mitch Kenny until later this season. Soni Luke similarly was a massive disappointment with his pick up the ball at the ruck look around for a second and then do something. Obviously worked for him in reserves but NRL defences ate him up.
My point being neither Crossland or Kenny are complete liabilities anymore. They've embraced their limitations and play to them. Kenny even came up with some trickery to send the markers the wrong way for the GF winning try.
