I'm Looking forward to the Sydney Rugby League Grand final.

Cmon Loudy this post it's just Shit stirring for the hell of it.
No it isnt. Think of who was still in the comp as of last night: Manly, Melbourne, Canterbury. Plus Easts and Souffs fans carrying on like pork chops over SBW and the Partridge Family respectively, and a club possibly more corrupt than a Columbian exporter. Which of those potential premiers would give me any joy?

North Queensland have a right to be angry.

Yet I support a Sydney club - a very important one in terms of potential crowd and TV stats, and also the battle of the codes in Western Sydney. Yet we have seen the NRL prevent our best signing in decades, inly a few months later to see the CEO elect hatch a plan to give a salary cap exemption for his club to sign him back. We see another signing not ratified (Papali) by the NRL, only to lose him too. Both had a massive impact upon this year, and ultimately with the Stuart betrayal, the next two years as well. The NRL's ultimate response? Threaten to withold our grant if WE dont fix it up?

And Thurston and Henry (Ironically our potential coach) reckon there is favoritism toward Sydney clubs?

Anyway, if there is a preferred grand final to be engineered for the ARLC's coffers, maximum exposure and crowds, it would come about most likely through NZ beating Melbourne and the Tigers beating Brisbane on preliminary finals weekend.

I reckon the nrl made the refs do that.

They really want the club with asada on thier back winning.

It becomes clear......

I bet qlderp media darling Thurston gets away completely with these ridiculous, disgusting comments.

The chip on the shoulder up north somehow grows every year.

Because the sharks aren't going to progress past next week, they're busted and while they can pull a good game out every now and then, they just aren't a serious threat overall. The cowboys on the other hand would've had a seven game winning streak, a fit squad and were the form defensive team of the comp leading into the finals. We had been playing sudden death footy for six weeks and have nothing to lose and no expectations. We were a bigger chance to upset the "ideal" GF matchup than they were.

That's probably the reality, Manly would be a lot more worried about playing the Cowboys, esp now dud Carney most likely won't play next week. I wonder who the Eagles would fear more... a Jeff Robson... or Thurston

c'mon guys, they have just been dudded in a finals game AGAIN and are emotional, happenz

No-one really believes there is actual rigging of games

What we need is some sort of system that will allow mistakes like these to be corrected, when anyone at the ground or watching at home can figure out within seconds of it happening, seems a no brainer. Have the video guys or whoever have a word in the refs ear, bam obvious bad decision overruled (I get that they could have acted but missed it as well in this case)

But what happens? Changeover where the sixth tackle is completed not allowing the Sharks to kick on the last play? Take it back to where the fifth tackle was completed and allow them one more play to kick? How do you rectify such a poor call?

That is true, but never in the last 7 years have the NRL had so much bad PR,cronulla ElephantJuice, the origin players fiasco,Ferguson, the squirrel grip, the poor reffing and more, the NRL need a feel good story to take the heat off.
Souths seem to be the beneficiary of all this bad PR,and the the NRL it would seem want souths to win and wipe away all the troubles of 2013.

go and follow another sport. please.

How would they over rule this one but?
They can't take the try off them. If tackle 5 was called as tackle 5 the Sharks wouldn't have sent Tagatese for a hit up. The whole set would have played out differently.

Thurston and Henry were embarrassing in that press conference.

Cameron smith and Bellamy showed how to lose with style.
They got ripped off 2 try's.

Was the lead story on nein news in Brisbane tonight. All I could do was .

That's very true, but they would rather them still in ahead of the lowest drawing team in the comp.

Anyone who thinks they aren't pulling for the bunnies to make it is clearly deluded though.

I don't think the NRL is laying the red carpet for the Bunnies. I'm happy to accept your judgement that I am delusional. All I ask in return is that, in accordance with the general rules for burden of proof, that the one alleging a conspiracy (in this case you, though you're hardly Robinson Crusoe) provide proof that said conspiracy is real.

obviously changeover, better than letting them play on to seventh tackle. They should be keeping track of how many tackles they have had I guess.

Don't imagine it would happen all that often.

The point is every one can see on tv replays when a call is obviously wrong, so why can't we use that? Through Captain's Challenge or however you wanna work it.

Pretty embarrassing for the club this. Where are the media minders? The players are obviously upset, keep the cameras out of their faces FFS.

It seems like Nine are the ones pulling for the Bunnies, it's a lovefest every time
