I have the entire set of the '94 Masters series.

Are they a series of nine? and have gold writing and stuff... and Ricky Stuart got the Rugby League Writer's award, and coach of the year was Peter Louis?

If so, then I have that entire collection too.

I used to love collecting the old footy cards. I still have alot of them and like getting them out every now and again.

the Masters series - they were the ones on sale in the off season, right? i didn't collect them at all, i'd already spent so much of my pocket money on the first two series. 3 series in one year, f**k, wayyyy too many for a 10 yr old to be able to afford. i'm still pissed off at the massive inflation of price that occurred with footy cards from 1990 to 1996, from 30c a pack to $5.

I have almost all of the Raiders cards, including all of the Australia-release normal (non-insert) cards.

Why would you buy the packs of cards when you can get the entire regular set of your team off ebay for $4, plus a dollar for postage?

No, it's a serious question - that's what I did this year. Back in the day, you didn't have that option.

As I see it, the only reason for buying the packs is for the relatively minor chance of scoring one of the super special cards.

yeah but i guess it would be easier to go to one of those shops and buy a super special card

Well finding any pics or decent info on Sam Backo on the internet is harder than picking a broken nose. If anyone has scanned pics of him, or text describing him (Prodigiousman, please help!), feel free to contribute.

The same can be said about Lazarus as well - text for the team list would be much appreciated.

Yeah - i hate it everytime i log on to the forum i feel guilty for not doing another bio. BUT it's a long off-season - i'll rattle em off when the team is fully picked - and we'll really make the document look good. If i do one now it'll be half baked and not that thorough. if you can wait another week or two i'll be on holidays and will get it done for Christmas. A pressy for all!
