Secondly, again with all due respect, I am hearing a lot of huffing and puffing from people about issues that they know little about other then what they read in the media or perhaps from a friend that knows a friend. Who here really knows the interal workings of the club? It may even be worse then we are being told.
With all due respect, what is your point here mate? Just a little lost that's all...
are you saying comments on the state of the club are invalid unless you are on the inside?
I also recall that you were going to the AGM to ask hard quesitons,
yep. and after about 5 minutes it became clear there was little point. The question I asked was only asked because it was not covered in the rest of general business, not that I got a straight answer anyways (don't think anyone really did...).
because I dont know all the facts and I have been taught from my background in the criminal justice system that if you are going to take an issue on then have the evidence to back it up or you are left sounding rather silly.
A good point. But how do we get these facts? We can only go on what is made available? Are we supposed to just give up because of the closed-shop nature of the admin?
If you think that you are going to wake up tommorrow and the club will be privatised then you are living in fairy land.
I don't think anyone is expecting that...
The current posts on this forum have become emotive.
tends to happen when you have an emotional attachment to something...
Even your reply to my post is emotive and bordering on agressive.
apologies if you felt I was being aggressive. Make no apologies for being passionate about my club though.
Part of my message is simply lets take a big deep breath and work this through.
sounds like a great plan. If we could get everyone that matters to commit to that with an open mind we would be set.
My overall message is that yes we need privitisation, it needs to be structured and well planned out.
That is the general message coming from all of us here mate. No one wants rash decisions - they have never worked too well for our club..
Taking the first offer, Constantine whom I am not convinced is the right person for the club, is not necessarily the best option.
Agreed. I don't believe selling 100% of the club is what we need. Partnership is the way to go. That does offer its own challenges however.
(wasn't too aggressive was I there??)
Mate I don't know about the rest of you, but the feeling in the pit of my stomach is that im watching my club slowly starve to death. We might get a meal here or there, keeping us going for a while, but the general trend is consistently and irrevocably downward.
I don't think im the only one that feels its only a matter of time until we are too emaciated to stand on our own two feet. What im saying, is the road to recovery is going to be quicker the quicker we get a permanent source of nourishment.
And like a person, there does come a point where everything has shut down and the only options are transplants... or death. I don't want us to get to that point - that is why I want them to commit to this search for a perfect model. Not some half arsed smokescreen, but a valid commitment to the future of our club.
Guess im just not feelin' it right now.
