I would rather keep a player who loves the club as Benji has stated many times than a guy moving here just to be with his girlfriend and set up retirement? Just saying who will put in more heart out of the 2? If it were not for Cronk's lovelife he would not have even considered moving from the Storm.

Its 2015 mate. Players will play for whoever they are employed by, 'love' of a club rarely comes into it. I'm sure Benji didn't love the club prior to signing, certainly didnt love us September 2010!

Is Cronk ends up here and makes the team a better one, I couldnt give 2 f**ks if he loves it or not! He is a super professional.

I think as a halfback there is very little doubt Cronk is better than Benji. It's only a question of who should make way for Cronk if he were to come. Benji or Widdop?

Widdop and Cronk would be safe and Benji and Cronk possibly great. Either way, the club had better start looking for a long term halves solution ASAP because when Cronk (if he comes) or Benji can no longer cut it in first grade, the team is going fall off a cliff.

If Benji goes down with a long-term injury early next season, even though I'm not a gambler I will bet anyone the Dragons will be bottom 4. If Benji stays healthy, I'm highly confident of a top 4 finish.

You are literally the only person asking this question!

Remember the 2010 semi final against the Tigers. Benji kicks out on the full and Saints go down field to kick the winning field goal.....

That was definitely part of his 50% being worse 30% of the time. When he does something good though it feels like it's 50% better for 1% of the time, or was that 1% better for 50%.......hang on a sec I need to find my calculator.

Kicking out on the full allowing the opposition team to win with a field goal in a finals game sounds familiar:sarcasm:..... Who else has done that? It's just tht in the game you mention, it was the Dragons who while maybe not "dominating" but certainly coming home stronger than the enemy. Actually, it's the same for the game I was thinking of. Dragons weren't "dominating" but were certainly coming home over the top of the enemy until THAT kick.

I'm sure many more would be asking it if they didn't lack the patience to put up with the vitriol of all these homies (including you) who have somehow been put in a trance by Widdop.

But let me reiterate for the 50th time, I think Widdop is a good, "workman-like" 5/8. Just as the games where Benji was out last season demonstrate, Widdop isn't a teams No.1 playmaker.

Vas = Kenye West

Benji = Beyonce

It doesn't even annoy me but merely confuses me. How can people be so stupid? I refuse to believe anyone of sound mind can.

I was arguing with 2 philosophy master course students/teachers (they had reached the point of assisting the professors in classes.) I mean to say, they are obviously quite intelligent.

I was explaining the inevitability/mathematical certainty about the rise, stagnation and decline of capitalist societies and how the very contradictions destroying capitalism were laying the foundations for a new society and system (Communism). Without being able to come up with any intelligent retort they merely said something to end of "no, you are brainwashed."

FFS, and these two intelligent, educated guys couldn't understand the irony and even when I pointed it out, refused to believe it.

I am constantly bombarded with homosexual comments because I defend Benji, the Dragons most important player last season by some margin. By homies who can't even understand they have somehow deluded themselves into believing Widdop is a star or anything more than he has shown in 2 years at the Dragons. A solid, "workman-like" 5/8 absolutely unable to be a teams main playmaker.

I still have my doubts whether Cronk would come here, seems like another media beat up to me.

But if he is a chance, then of course we need to try and get him. But this assumes the problems with Widdop and Benji still exist. If they somehow click with Mann at FB, Dugan at centre, why would we break them up?

I think Benji and Widdop have the potential to be on fire this year with 2 big and fast centres (Lafai and Dugan) and perhaps a flyer on the left (Glymin, FFL or Milne) and finally a ballplayer at FB (Mann).

And having the likes of Thommo, Frizzel, Ikahfio, Lui, McCarthy, Mathews running the edges and a monster prop rotation in Masoe, Packer, Au Mau and Cooper. And Havili may surprise at hooker.

They have a host of weapons to choose from and I'm banking they will both fire.

What the f**k has Lenin or communism got to do with this?

So....you crap on about how you can't understand people having a differing opinion about your opinion? Face it, you think Benji should be kept above Widdop. There are plenty of people that disagree. Is it so hard? You are not right because you say so. You are not wrong because they say so.
You feel and say whatever you like. But be prepared to cop flak.

Solid, workman like flak

And you didn't understand either. Well at least in your case it isn't surprising. Let me try and break it down so even you can (possibly) understand.

It was the height of all irony they said I was brainwashed when they, faced with the cold hard facts simply chose to disregard those facts and remain in their brainwashed comfort zone.

It's only slightly less ironic you for one are labeling me a homosexual because I believe Benji is not only much better, but far more valuable for the team. While those who like Widdop are simply looking at the facts objectively but aren't homosexuals with a thing for Widdop.

How did the Dragons go last season in the games where Widdop played but Benji didn't? On the other hand, how did the Dragons go in the one game where Benji played but Widdop didn't? That is as simple as it gets for you. I would go into statistics, Dally M points and etc but that is more than your homoerotic addicted mind can handle.

There is no way in this world that you can possibly be 'sure' of that!

Before I start my reply, I will say I am for Benji playing out his career with us with Widdop as his partner.

Now for the reply. You are comparing apples and oranges when you are comparing the oppositions in those games. How can you compare when Benji played without Widdop against the Tigers and vice versa against the Broncos? 2 completely different classes. The Tigers season was already over and against the Broncos was in front of a hostile crowd with a forward for his partner. Hardly comparable matches. I could elaborate further, but you catch my drift.

Now of course I will bring up the Warriors game where Benji went down early and we flogged them but you will say but Johnson did not play. Yes, that accounts for them being held to zip, but since when did Johnson do all the tackling to stop the 42 points being put on them.

I would also point out when Benji went off against the Dogs it was still 6 - 0 and without Widdop we would not have even been in golden point but predicably, you will say but Widdop kicked it out on the full. Admittedly, if Benji had stayed on, I think we win that game but not just because of Benji but because of the combined effort of having 2 world class halves instead of just one on the paddock. And that is the same for the whole season. Sure, they can combine better, but they still as a pair combined for the 2nd most try assists out of all clubs with Benji placing well in the Dally M and Widdop finished as our top try scorer. I look forward to seeing them further develop their combination this season with our improved pack and backline providing better assistance.

You are a hypocrite! You complain about the above, yet you've been slandering those who recognise Widdops valuable contribution to the team, labelling them 'deluded' and 'brainwashed'.

I hope you see the ironic side of your huge speech on irony too!

Dude, I've been through all this before! He will either:
Not reply;
Come up with a questionable-at-best justification as to why Benji's 2 point win over Tigers is somehow greater than Widdops 40 point win over Warriors, and that Widdop partnered with JDB against Broncos is identical to Benji partnered with Hutch against Tigpies; OR
Start another rant that has nothing to do with the valid examples you've just mentioned.

Then in about a week, he will derail another thread, mention that noone has been able to produce an example of a game Widdop has controlled, list the same arguments (i.e Benji out vs Widdop out) and the process will start over!

I haven't slandered anyone or Widdop. I have consistently said he is a good, "workman-like" player. Last year players such as Chad Townsend and Melbournes jouney-man 5/8 (whose name I can't recall) had more highlights but fell completely flat when called upon to be their respective teams main playmaker. Precisely as Widdop did. This has been my argument all along. It's simply madness or deluded to call for Benji to be shown the door rather than Widdop (if it had to be one of them. I am also on record many times as saying I hope they can both be retained) at present as a lot of homies do.

Lenin said: "Even slander should make sense."

And thats without jumping a thread to your beastiality comments...
