Harsh on the pommy bloke, been on fire of late

I do agree that Cronk is the cream of the crop in terms of his on field performances but I can't see why we need to spend money on more coaches, too many chefs can spoil the broth

The most appealing thing about Cronk is his ability to read the play.

His commentary for our game against Manly was outstanding, it was getting to the stage where he was predicting what was going to happen before it actually happened.
This is why he would make a successful coach, especially a halves coach, because he could sit down with Hunt and Widdop and watch countless hours of video on the opposition and on their own game to know areas to target.
Whenever Melbourne play us, Cronk is constantly identifying and exploiting our compressed defence. All it takes is a well executed cut-out pass and we're constantly battling a 2 or 3 on 1 on our edges.

Some of the plays Melbourne put together are sexy, it would be awesome to see some of those backline shifts from our squad.

Thats what made me think of it.
After watching the replay of Sundays game and hearing how he spoke Re Dufty and halves set plays.

After watching Hunt dominate at hooker for the Donkeys over the weekend an idea from left field could be if we can't find a top notch prop to spend all our Dugan money on do we try and sign Cooper Cronk.
2018.
1). Dufty.
6). Widdop.
7). Cronk.
9). Hunt.
Still might not win the comp but there is a shitload of points and entertainment in that spine.
To dream.

An interesting concept, this could go one of two ways..
The Positive:
- Cronk signs for one year, lines up at halfback and pushes Hunt to hooker.
- McInnes to the bench, Robson to NSW Cup.
- Cronk brings leadership, experience and skill.
- Cronk moves on at the end of 2018.
- Seamless transition of McInnes/Robson promoted to the starting side at hooker for 2019, Hunt shifted back to halfback for 2019.
- That spine could deliver us a premiership.

The Negative:
- Cronk signing at halfback causes unrest with Ben Hunt, as he originally signed to play halfback.
- We will probably lose McInnes to another club if Hunt plays hooker.
- Robson might not progress as well as we'd like and that leaves us without a hooker in 2019.
- When Hunt shifts back to halfback in 2019 he loses his effectiveness after playing hooker for so long.
- Cronk will be expensive, which means we will probably lose juniors like Dufty who will want a contract upgrade by the time Cronk leaves.

Guys, we have a hooker and he will only get better. Hunt to 7.

Did you see McInness kicked on the weekend, and he even had a run from dummy half. He is playing well and will only get better.
Mary probably got inspiration from the forum and told him to kick and run...

Name another team that's got two $1 million plus players in it, we can't afford that.

(Melbourne don't count, they get a free boat every year, dunno where they come from, they just appear)

I like the idea of having Cronk as a assistant or halves coach, we cant afford to sign him and possibly down the track he may make a good first grade coach.
