St George Illawarra have today announced the signing of Corey Norman on a three-year deal, following the completion of all necessary documentation.

Norman will join the Red V immediately from the Parramatta Eels and will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2021 Telstra Premiership season.

The 27-year-old has played 169 NRL games to date during time spent at the Brisbane Broncos (2010-2013) and the Eels (2014-2018).

The versatile Beenleigh Lions junior was excited to make the move to the Dragons.

"It's a big day for myself and my family. There are some exciting times ahead," Norman said.

"The Dragons squad at the moment is really good and coming off a good year so I'm really looking forward to playing with the boys and spending plenty of good seasons here."

Dragons Director of Rugby League Pathways and List Management Ian Millward was pleased to have a player of Norman's quality join the club's ranks.

"Corey is a player who will entertain all members and fans with his ability in attack. He is a player who we see will take us to the next level with the way he plays the game," Millward said.

"When we make these decisions, it's not always about pure recruitment. We talk to our senior players, we speak to our coach. Overall, we have been impressed.

"Straight away, there will be speculation around the position he'll play and that'll be up to the coach. We feel Corey as a quality player will give Paul (coach McGregor) an opportunity to work with some really outstanding talent."

Norman's signing sees him among the likes of Korbin Sims, Lachlan Maranta, Mikaele Ravalawa, Eddie Blacker, Lachlan Timm and Jonus Pearson to have joined the Red V ahead of the 2019 season.

The Dragons have now filled 29 of the required Top 30 roster positions ahead of the 2019 season.

Great Signing! The only player here that will be affected IMO will be Jai Field...Corey Norman plays 1,4, 6,7 some of the positions that Field was looking to grow into for the Dragons....Dufty will be fine and will be used anywhere between starting fullback or No.14 on the bench allowing Widdop, Norman to move around the backline when he comes on...

We are now a genuinely dangerous attacking team w Norman in the team...our wingers are good enough and i believe our centres including the potential of Norman playing left centre are adequate.

onward and upwards!

With Norman signed up for 3 years, it will be very interesting to see the official team line up for round 1. My thoughts are that Norman will play at 6 and Widdop will play at 1. I also think Widdop may just stay beyond 2019 if he goes well at fullback and SGI offer him an upgrade.

1. Widdop
2. Pearson
3. Lomax
4. Lafai
5. Pereira
6. Norman
7. Hunt
8. Vaughan
9. McInnes
10. Graham
11. T Sims
12. Frizell
13. De Belin

14. Robson
15. K Sims
16. Lawrie
17 Leilua

Good signing, hopefully the fresh start will remove a few of the off-field issues..

Although speaking of the off-field, I hope we have some pretty strict clauses in his contract..

Do you mean along the same lines as Josh Dugan? His off-field clauses went really well, huh?

Idiot.

Idiot.

On the contrary.

Whilst I’m no Dugan fan, he played several Origin matches and tests whilst a member of the Dragons including winning he Brad Fittler medal in 2015. He had arguably his best years with us.

He only started getting into strife towards the end of 2017 when it was clear he was leaving us.
