Yep I agree...in my opinion he pulls the team out of shape..loves passing the ball to Sims which is so predictable , putting bombs up and kicking downtown which on most occassions are totally ineffective and doing those stupid bloody short goal line drop outs....in other words sfa....and please Hook no more Norman and Bird in the halves together...Im all for Birdy at 5/8 as long as Hunt is at 7
He’s been running the ball a lot lately but often on the last or second last tackle and just has no zip, power or footwork to cause any headaches to the opposition. I feel like he’s trying but the game has passed him by. If he put in the work early he could and should have been a Blake Green type of controlled game manager with a smart kicking game that would get a gig anywhere but it just hasn’t happened.

The experiment could of been given a go this week with Hunt at 7, Clune 6 and Norman on the bench as a genuine utilility to cover all the backs.
Anyway, this weeks side looks pretty decent still.

He should be..

He’s had plenty of practice in his career..
He does it in his sleep mate!
Kids marvel at his kickoff ability.
Grandkids ask their Grandads “why is Corey so good at kicking off pop?”
“Well grandson, that’s because he has had a loooooooooooot of practice, and practice makes perfect!

Just needs to work on those short drop kicks now..

I swear to God, Corey Norman must have the same teflon coating as McF#ckwit. How bog ordinary does he have to be before he gets punted?!
Does he make some invaluable contribution that has escaped my notice for the past three years?!

I can only assume that Hook is homesick for Brisbane and wants the Broncos old boys for company.

Hunt and Norman were Millward/Mary appointments. Griffin has brought in McCullough and Bird from the Broncos and Bird is a Draons junior. McGuire recruited from the Cowboys.

Norman should cop a lot of criticism but the continual blaming him for the short drop outs is off the mark. I think from memory we have had at least five over the past three games. Now I know people don’t want to criticise Griffin but the short kick offs are a Griffin decision, not Norman’s. I’d be pretty disappointed if we currently have a coach who just lets any player do what they want. Norman is following Hook’s instructions.

You could be right with your view on Hook giving instructions to Norman re the short drop outs .....but I fail to see why Hook would tell Norman to short kick in particular in the Eels game twice when we were in front...and on both occassions it failed.........fails all logic for mine....if your behind and your running out of time then its a no brainer you need the pill back....whoever is responsible it aint working....if my memory serves me correct weve been successful once.....Id hate to think we tried it in golden point....but with Norman anythings possible at times
