Norman...
... Is sinking my opinion of Griffin.
only as good as your weakest link
Time to cast Norman off.
Dont care - pay his off - Piss him off

I don't think you will get a lot of argument from anyone in the rugby league world.

The longer we persist, the more entrenched we become as a pretender club.

Norman played as good as he could yesterday. He does try. He had a few good runs early, a nice bomb or two that created opportunities. But other than that it was just vision of him reeling out of tackles of rooster players barnstorming over the line.

ESL beckons. I don't like to be critical of individuals but the writing has been on the wall for ages.

Don't forget the dreaded short drop outs
And he doesn't ice them either. And to make matters worse there were a few times last night where one was warranted and he did a long one. He will have some games this year that people will say I told you so but not enough to win us a GF. I would rather just rebuild than plod along directionless.

He will have fun and enjoy his footy ( if he wants to play ) at ESL.

I actually think he's very talented, but imho, currently offers very little. Shame really.

Give Bird the 6 for the rest of the season.
He has the business in Sydney that would probably make it hard, plus the move would be expensive meaning he would probably need a fair deal more than he would get here, which I'm sure he would get. Personally he doesn't look the type of player to me that is chasing success. I couldn't see him going to a club for unders for a chance at a GF. If I were him I would go have a good crack at winning a SL title and have a bit of fun travelling around Europe in downtime. That or get a lower value contract in Sydney as a backup half and enjoy Cup and being closer to the business while still making 350 odd a season which isn't too bad.

Your kidding, having fun traveling around Europe, I won't consider that for three years and the UK is a mess also.
Be mad to go over there.

Yeah I'm not sure of the covid situation there. Last I head it was improving. Hopefully the vaccine starts having an effect. Either way he might not have much choice I don't see clubs lining up for him. I don't think he is banging the door down for us either.

I don't hear or see any clus chasing Norman or Dufty or any of the player we have off contract.

Sullivan for Norman will brighten our attack. Fufty off the bench will be just the tonic the boys need when they are feeling tired.

Just one hard nosed prop and a top grade fullback could turn things around for the Dragons especially seeing that we have some good young players coming through.

It will be very interesting to see who they buy and who they let go at the Dragons. I think its clear that Merrin, Norman and McInnes are gone or on their way. The rest is still to play out.

I dont think Sullivan is the saviour everyone thinks...not this year at least...i do believe in the Jack Bird Bird move to 5/8...Andrew Johns did say that the 7 and 6 have to be completely different players and Hunt and Bird are that...in fact Jack Bird is pretty clunky at 5/8 but he's a beast and has the hallmarks of a Cameron Munster type player built on power...i do expect Bird to be moved to 5/8 very soon...

He will be moved there for sure. Possibly this weekend with Norman on the bench in case Hunt is injured, beginning the gentle dropping of Norman. Hunt/Bird will do for now and its the best we have with Hunt being the organiser (even though up until this year he never really was) and Bird being the unpredictable one that can crack a stubborn defence open.

in saying all this i would look at Shaun Johnson for $700K a season at 5/8...

At $700, 0000 a season - do you mean real dollars or in Kiwi money ? Come to think of it even in their dough it is far too much .

Throw Sullivan in at 5/8th , what do we have to lose , it’s not as if we are going to be premiership contenders this season . One only needs to look at the Rorter’s Walker , very young and talented , why the Dragons persist in waiting to blood their juniors just plain rankles me .

How old were those 2 old foghorns we played against yesterday - Rooster Brett Morris and Rooster Josh Morris when they played their first game for the mighty Dragons?

Norman is a thorn in our attack and I don’t mean of the sharp variety , but very dull and blunt . Punt the bloke to the reggies , promote Sullivan and give the kid much needed NRL experience for next season when the stakes will be much higher for the team .

I will be honest and say I have neen giving Normam the botd, probably masked by our 4 game wins. However, the last 2 weeks have really highlighted his deficiencies and lack of play nouse.

Today was a perfect opportunity for him to take the game by the balls against a reject Dragon and a rookie half, and he did not.

I get he's a left foot kicker, but that means little if the kick is ineffective each time.

Enough now, if Hunt is fit next week he comes in at 7 and Clune to 6 (shame that Bud is injured).

I posted (facetiously) some time ago when Norman was pulling off some prodigious goal line drop outs that he should take his left boot off to the Waratahs and play Rugby.

I am no longer joking. Norman is playing Rugby and not Rugby League. I am now convinced that he has lost his pace and evasiveness as he almost always passes or kicks and never takes on the line. HIs kicks are mostly inaccurate. His opposite Walker yesterday killed us by doing just the opposite.

If Hunt is not back next week, Clune and Bird should be the halves- Corey in KOE

Norman is a myth.
Even his great games are just OK.
His role in the team currently is to kick the ball on the 5th, that’s it.
And take kickoffs.
Yep I agree...in my opinion he pulls the team out of shape..loves passing the ball to Sims which is so predictable , putting bombs up and kicking downtown which on most occassions are totally ineffective and doing those stupid bloody short goal line drop outs....in other words sfa....and please Hook no more Norman and Bird in the halves together...Im all for Birdy at 5/8 as long as Hunt is at 7
