And yet others would go to the union.

I was in what is now Sydney Trains when they brought in random drug testing, around 15 years ago. That was done on the basis of legislation but it was just a urine test. Injecting a foreign substance into the body is quite different and would require an EBA at the very least.

I don't believe there is any legislation that allows/protects people to remain in the workplace unvaccinated.

They have to pay them their salary, but they don't have to play them in the team, that's the way I see it.
Why do they have to pay them? I have no doubt their contracts say that they will abide by the rules of the competition.
Well the new rules say 'no needle, no footy'. So if they choose not to have the shot they choose not to play, and therefore choose not to be paid.

Simples.

When I started work at a meat works in 1995, one of my friends who is allergic to eggs could not get a job there because the vaccines for Q fever contains egg. I didn't need the vaccine as I had already had Q fever.

You could openly say homo in the workforce in 95 and not face any consequences, so it's not really relevant.

The great unknown is what happens if you have Covid 19 and one of the many Influenza strains at the same time.

What we do know is that both Viruses have to potential to attack your respiratory system at the same time.

What we don't know is how many people will die when exposed to this cocktail.

We do know from the 1918 pandemic that the second more lethal wave which killed millions was more severe because bacterial pneumonia was doing the rounds, and so having both just wasted everybody.

Otherwise there is nothing to see here.

It maybe that the health officials don't want to be answerable to multiple deaths in a lepper colony they signed off on knowing every expert around the world is saying countries that get hit in the winter might be in really big doo doo if they haven't vaccinated as many people as possible from the dual threat of Flu.

In this scenario they have the means to make it a non issue by at least taking one of the bullets out of the roulette chamber.

Bear in mind lots of scientist will be monitoring the NRL closely and not for the footy, it is a mass social experiment not being tried successfuly anywhere in human history, with hundreds of willing subjects.

Maybe the health geeks in lab coats should get some leeway for feeling a little twitchy about it.

I think it would have to be specified. Otherwise rules can be made up on a whim.

No one is physically forcing them. They don't have to have the shot, but they don't get to play. Unimmunised kids are already excluded from daycare and in public school they can be pulled out in the event of a virus outbreak.

Kids don't have to get the flu vaccine.

Let's not confuse separate issues here.

So let’s get this stra8 .. playing league is high risk and everyone is going crazy that players don’t want to take flu shot , which is our democratic right As they are undertaking high risk in the covid environment and it’s to save lives from the covid virus which a flu shot does NOT Protect against

then why the f*** won’t a covid vaccine be mandatory to society if one is found

https://9now.nine.com.au/a-current-...ons-ease/9841a727-e8fd-4cb7-a01f-73ec6ee4a5f9

So as per deputy chief officer comments it seems
Footy players have to take a flu vaccine that doesn’t protect against the covid virus , but when a vaccine for that actual virus gets released people don’t have to take it .

Please tell me how that makes sense

It will all make sense if you move to China.
