So let’s get this stra8 .. playing league is high risk and everyone is going crazy that players don’t want to take flu shot , which is our democratic right As they are undertaking high risk in the covid environment and it’s to save lives from the covid virus which a flu shot does NOT Protect against
then why the f*** won’t a covid vaccine be mandatory to society if one is found

So as per deputy chief officer comments it seems
Footy players have to take a flu vaccine that doesn’t protect against the covid virus , but when a vaccine for that actual virus gets released people don’t have to take it .
Please tell me how that makes sense
I think that you will find that when a Vaccine is developed, that the vast majority of the population will take it as they do for things like TB and Tetnus and a all the other myriad of diseases.
Flu is different because it is endemic, and it is seasonal for most part, and it does not overwhelm healthcare systems so totally or almost guarantee to kill off the elderly.
It may turn out that Covid dies out completely in the presence of a world wide vaccination program, we just don't know.
The other difference is that Flu is a known threat that is well understood, and manageable.
Flu doesn't disrupt supply chains and force Governments to use the defence act or war powers to force meat plant workers to go into a place of work where workers are dying from it.
At this stage in our understanding of Covid 19, comparisons to a seasonal influenza virus is not useful.
There will also likely be a degree of compulsion if the public do not create herd immunity to Covid by accepting the Vaccine.
You will find governments forced to legislate to protect economies, healthcare, and citizens from a new virus (although they will hope for voluntary compliance in adequate numbers in the first instance).
