I was all for keeping the NRL season going as long as possible, but starting to think it’s best to shut it down after today’s games. It’s concerning the amount of people out and about carrying on like everything is normal and not adhering to social distancing protocols (just look at Bondi the other day or pretty much any pub/cafe around the country).
The public are being told one thing about the seriousness of the situation, but then they see footy players running around hugging each other every tackle, and it definitely sends mixed messages to the public.
Bunch of morons tbh.
Even if they’re in the lowest at-risk category, think of the wider population. The death rates in some countries should be all you need to see, to realise how bad it can/will get here.
I’m fortunate that I live in the bush and like my solitude, work from home and there are currently no reported cases in my region yet, but it’s only a matter of time. People simply aren’t being careful enough. I had to go to town for an appointment last Thursday and the place was packed like it is before xmas or easter. I worry that people will travel from Sydney to shop here, if they’re not already. Don’t ruin the oasis!
Tried to get in and out as efficiently as possible, while buying supplies I needed, but everyone seemed to be acting normal. Not standing far from each other (which let’s face it, takes some practice as it’s so unusual) It was good in a way. Bought a few things from aldi and it was calm and the usual number of people were shopping.
I’ve been keeping hand wipes in my car etc for years. Dunno how you can be out and not use one before eating at least. A must when travelling abroad too. washing up in bathrooms is more risky imo, because you usually have to touch a door etc. It seems much of the general public aren’t as hygiene aware. Even family members I’ve had to urge to get in the habit. It’s alarming to me that everyone doesn’t already do this.
