I have heard that the comp will be given 4-6 weeks to gauge the situation and if need be it will be cancelled and not played behind close doors, no idea how true this is, though sounds plausible to me.

f**k yeah.

There’ll be no players left after that off-season.

Except for the ever-professional Josh Dugan who will use the extended lay-off to get his body right.

Dragons to be declared April Premiers & Mary gets a 10 year extension with a 10 year option in his favour. Almost worth it for the lols.

Enacting Phase Two would involve disruptions to everyday life, Prof McVernon said, and will now come into effect.

“The focus will shift to minimising spread within Australia and limiting the health, social and economic impact of the disease,” she said.

“This could include (the) cancellation of large local gatherings, sporting matches and festivals, closure of schools, universities and some workplaces, and strict local travel restrictions.”

Shitposting aside, this is going to impact the NRL and probably all professional and amateur sporting events to some degree.

The NRL loves a knee jerk reaction. And, I don't know that they will have a choice anyway. Can the gov order a shutdown of sporting events etc?

yes they can, bringing in news laws, you got corona, you can be detained for up to, or over 2 weeks, force home detention, by the courts

This will impact the AFL far more than NRL. Aren’t they huge in China or something?
