While I would love the season to continue it seems the nrl are thinking more about their bottom line than the safety of the players, their families and communities
congratulations - the village idiot can type.Yeah f**k all the old or sick people you are going to come across and kill. You just want your footy, so their lives mean nothing
Instead of suspending the season or forcing players that don't want to play to participate, what if we continued the season but only with players that are willing to participate.
So let's say that a bunch of the Warriors players want to go home, let them then call up the next best willing player in their position to take their spot.
It'll effect the standard of the competition, but it's only for a little while, and I reckon that most players will want to play on anyway. Besides that no matter what happens the competition is going to have somewhat of an asterisk next to it this year, so it may as well continue with an asterisk next to it.
It'd also give dozens of guys the opportunity to play in the NRL and prove themselves. Many of them may never have got the opportunity to play otherwise, and the ones that will go on to have NRL careers just got some invaluable experience for when they do make it to the NRL proper.
It seems like a win-win to me; the competition goes on as normal, those that want to be with their families can be, those that want to play on can, and a bunch of guys get what might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to play in the NRL.
Anyway, it's just a thought.
If the ARLC are clever about this, they will use this as an opportunity to take proper control of the clubs....
The clubs will start struggling for cash once they close their door. If they ask the ARLC for cash, the ARLC should be thinking very carefully about what they ask for in return
And you can't shit because there's no toilet paper. You can’t go outside you’ll die.
Yep I wonder what their going to do?.The NRL announcement as to the season is due in a few hours, right?

Best thing to do might be to take a four to six week hiatus and just deliberately expose all players to the virus and put them in isolation until they recover. Symptoms for people at the players age is said to be mild to non-existent and the death rate is extremely low - and I would assume even lower than that for professional athletes at peak fitness. There's no conclusive evidence that people can be reinfected, so best to just get it out of the way instead of the inevitable scares every time someone does get infected.
It is inevitable that players are going to get this, and they will pass it on to others before they're even aware they have it. Just f**king get it over and done with.
By that stage New Zealand may have relaxed its isolation rules.
Given the Warriors announcement I'd be stunned if they canned the season nowThe NRL announcement as to the season is due in a few hours, right?
