That is the thing about Queensland so far.
We haven't had extended lockdowns (except for thr first time)
This could be different, but each lockdown has been about 3 days to maybe a week long.

With each successive lockdown, there is less and less panic and willingness to 'escape' but still the vast majority are being cautious (wearing masks) and following rules and that is why Covid19 hasn't spread here. And most likely won't this time.
Yes 3 days to see what the virus is doing in the community and give contact tracers time.

Why would we need an extended lockdown when we don't need it?

And who's panicking?

Its hardly fair that they don't get to play when and where they were meant to. If its postponed 24 hours they would use ssme rosters.

But if the season is postponed longer it would be ridiculous to be locked into the same squads.
Where do they fit in make up games though?

Its not fair for the teams who haven't played yet this weekend to need to squeeze in another game while those who have already played either don't have to or effectively get a free week off

A lot of people panicked the first few lockdowns.
Remember empty shelves of toilet paper and food. That is panicing uneccessarily

We have had a skewed comp for a million years, with sides playing others twice, and others only once, others depleted by SOO, etc.

I don't think 1 week of unforeseen changes is going to affect the outcome of what is already a non even system

First lockdown - yes. People didn't really know what was going on.

Haven't seen that since.
It happened the second one in January as well.
I went shopping that Friday evening and many shelves were bare of food.
A friend's wife went shopping that day and apparently it was mayhem.
I thought that was a mistake and might help spread the virurs.

Anyway, since January, everyone is taking the lockdowns in stride

how is the NRL playing games in front of ............ no one
thats ..... no one

threatening community safety ??

effing morons
Players were released from bubble life (i.e. stepped down from Lv4 protocols) on Thursday. Which means they've been in the community.

Apparently the AFL will be playing all their games that were postponed today on Sunday (but not in Qld)

I look forward to what our leadership can come up with

But isn’t that exactly what happened this weekend?
Teams who haven’t played had a week off while the guys who played Thursday /Friday didn’t get a week off?

how is that fair ?

I think so too, but of course I agree with most of people here don't wanna step outta line.

Good post mate. I think people should just get on with it. Even with the vaccine England say you need 3 or 4 shots now.... crazy.... Can't be living like that. Aussies just get on with shit, reason why I like em'. Lockdown isn't working. Look at Singapore, they opened up that shit. Why is Australia being so paranoid? Look I get it.... but you gotta get on with life ya know?

Lol Aussies are some of the most safety first people in the world. I absolutely agree at a certain point we should just get cracking especially as vaccine rates ramp up (even in plague addled England hospitalisation rates of the vaccinated are quite low)

But we will likely be hiding away behind the island borders for centuries

It bums me out that all I do is work and sit in my house in lockdown and I can't even watch the Raiders disappoint me for in my opinion no real reason.
