Why we cannot see the NRL Grand Final broadcast here in France ? :crazy: :crazy:

On the other hand the AFL final will be shown delay on Eurosport 2.

Are there any NRL games shown in France on a normal week? If so you'd expect it to screen on the same channel.

If not, I guess that no broadcaster in France has purchased the rights?

as far as I am aware NRL games are live on Setenta in France, if you can track down a pub with this channel. Apparently English pubs are your best bet as they have this channel for the soccer, otherwise it's tough biccies.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the Vichy WC taking up so much room on French TV, surely they could squeeze 2 1/2 hours one day for the fans of RL.

I saw the Grand Final in France last year. In Nice, in a well known aussie/english pub called "Wayne's Bar". You can find the website online easy enough.

Eurosport are given AFL rights for free. No-one wanted to pay for them so they gave them away for nothing.

Yes, but a Guiness there is 7 euros.

I passed Wayne's 4 days ago and looked on the advertising outside for NRL or Superleague - nothing, just jeu à xv.

I never really thought about it but considering France is actually a bit more rugby league inclined than Bhutan (they have hosted a world cup and all) it is a downright shame that there is no NRL shown on Sports+ or the like. It is so shameful it is almost a mystery.

Superleague finals are shown on Sports+, as will be the french international matches. I guess they feel this is enough and that the ESL, being closer and containing the Dragons, is more important than the NRL, but hey, the grand final would be nice, especially when other sports' finals such as the AFL are shown.
