Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced the federal government will work with the NRL and the AFL as the sports try to continue their competitions during the global coronavirus pandemic.

The Prime Minister announced on Sunday morning that Australians should cancel holiday plans but the tighter restrictions on non-essential travel are not likely to affect the NRL's plan to continue the Telstra Premiership.

I did Kokoda about 5 years ago. Unreal place and as you say so friendly.
But it really is the Wild West. Every male from 2 years old up has a machete and it only takes 1 to bop you on the head. The trekking company we visited had their house converted into a full panic room setup for ‘when’ the rascals ran rampant. Which happened every year or so. Another world, but well worth the trip. I’d only ever do it in a very organised / tour based way though.
