That’s the kind of side people have been calling out for. Light on props though.
Kind of. Ford has been playing through the middle and Sims did so last week. Maybe Hook is looking to bring Fui on earlier on the edge and move De Belin or Sims to the front row and Ford to 13? Seems to be something tactical there as Kerr and Pos have been dropped.

Why does Sullivan have to play out of position at 9?
Doesn’t it make more sense to let the young blokes play in their preferred positions given they are inexperienced and vulnerable?
He is a 5/8th isn’t he?

That’s not a bad side, all things considered with who’s available..

Lussick should be an interesting loan..

Will be good when he comes on, we can shift Sullivan to halfback & get Norman to f**k off and start cutting oranges for after the game..
Orange man BAD!

The funny thing is, there are only 2 more games left and we are STILL joking that Norman shouldn’t be anywhere near the team. Yet he is AGAIN the 1st player selected and will likely play 80 mins as the dominant half getting ALL the ball.
Running sideways….sorry, jogging sideways, holding the ball out behind him in one hand like he’s offering the forwards a slice of pizza. I really don’t get this play, the ‘offer the forwards a slice of pizza’ play.
I think the defence just watches him do this and think WTF is this guy doing. Finally he hands it a forward who is standing still and they submit in a tackle, play breaks down.
Anywho, one more week after this one.
I honestly hope that Norman has good people around him who are helping him to prepare for a substantial drop in salary after this year.

People who will tell him to adjust his spending now, as well as start investing to protect him for the future.

Unfortunately I’m not sure he surrounds himself with good people.1629791167737.jpeg

Do you honestly wish that?
Geez you are a good bloke Muzby.
I personally couldn’t care less if he blows all his money in 5 minutes after retirement.

Sloan in - yes!! Suddenly I'm interested in this game.

Really strange about Molo. I wonder if it's poor form, spiteful coach or just trying to test some players that'll be there next year. If it's form related that's a worry.

Lawrie is another weird one. I was informed he was gone for the season. Is he playing with a broken hand?

Anyway, looking at the the two teams we should find a way to get the two points, as useless as they may be.

Go Dragons. Give us a win!!

I might be wrong but people saying that Kerr is being played out of position and should be in the prop rotation. I fail to see what position you play on the park has to do with his inability to run hard, straight, preferably into a gap and most importantly hold onto the f%&$ing ball. I would have thought a big bloke like him running wide against a 5/8 or centre he would be able to get on top of them and maybe slip the odd offload instead of in the middle bashing and barging against other forwards.

As McCrone was to Mary, so Norman is to Hook.
Maybe Hook continues to select him in the hope that we finally get our money's worth out of him.
Three field goals in three years is not much bang for your buck, is it?

The worst thing Norman did was to win I think two games with a field goal. If he hadn’t I think the peanut would have been shown the door earlier.

Yes, you would certainly think that playing as an edge forward he would be ripping through the opposition at will with his height and size but alas he fails to do that. Just takes the tackles without looking to offload to allow for the likes of say Lomax to get through and set up Rava often. His hands leaves a lot to be desired as well and should apply maxi-grip to them so that he can catch and hold onto the ball.

Sullivan is a natural halfback. Modern five-eights are built quite big nowadays, and halfbacks are (generally) a lot smaller. If you watch some of the games he's played, although Sullivan does have a solid running game due to his speed (making him good with support especially like all good halves do), his kicking is mainly what stands out for him - when you're playing in the juniors, running even as a halfback is a lot easier. A good kicking game is usually what takes good young halves from reserve grade to first grade, and Sullivan has exactly that. He's not a five-eighth like Amone, because Amone is a lot larger and has a much stronger running game. That's how they won the SG Ball final.

Corey Norman is not a natural anything, especially not halfback. He used to be a solid player in his early days and then it just went downhill very quickly

breaking his jaw didn’t help the situation, plus the musical chairs Saints implemented when he arrived with Widdop could have been handled a lot better.

I agree re the jaw.

I was at that game, our first against the eels at Bankwest.

We were leading and in control and Norman was having a great game until Sivo smashed his jaw, then it all fell to pieces, the game, Norman's jaw and his form since then...

Much like Josh Reynolds they were both good early in their careers because they are effort players.

They need to really put in to have an impact.

Be it tentative post injuries, lack of motivation or just plain lazy they lost the only strength they had...
