Helluva player. R.I.P.

Be interesting had Rowdy played same amount of matches as Lyon. He was only given 38 matches but boasted a better average than Lyno. Chances are had he played an even 100 Tests as Lyon has we'd be calling Ashley Mallett the GOAT instead.
RIP Rowdy.

Davidson arguably our best pace all rounder behind the great Keith "nugget" Miller.

In one match on an Australian Second XI tour of New Zealand under Bill Brown in 49/50 Davo took all ten wickets for 29 and then made an unbeaten 157 powering Australia to an an innings and 466 run win.

RIP Davo.

agree with this from Gilly

I think this was discussed at times over recent years

I mentioned weeks back , half jokingly half serious
Give Warne the T20 coaching gig for 12 months and the WC next year
Despite being a selfish twat, I reckon he would go alright. If he stuffs things up will it be as bad as what we have dished up in t20 history? (other than a purple patch here and there)

Ponting is another id give full reigns to

Even if we had a head coach like the garden gnome and an assistant for say T20s. There are a lot of experienced T20 coaches in the IPL and Big Wank, they could at least have input as an interim measure. Then see how we go from there

Hope the tour to Pakistan is actually completed. A few tours planned there, but seem to have the plug pulled in the last minute.

I'll believe it when I see it.

More than likely it'll be cancelled and a few ODIs and 27 t20s against India will be played instead.

Champions Trophy is back

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...y-india-and-bangladesh-2031-world-cup-1289589

Pakistan will be hosting a world tournament for the first time in nearly three decades when it hosts the Champions Trophy in February 2025. In another first, the USA will host its first ever global tournament as a co-host along with the West Indies for the men's T20 World Cup in June 2024.

Those two events are part of the eight new men's global tournaments that feature in the ICC's next commercial cycle from 2024-31. The eight marquee tournaments comprise two ODI World Cups, four T20 World Cups and two editions of the Champions Trophy, which the ICC had decided to bring back.

USA co-hosting the T20 world cup is interesting. Could be temepted in 2024 to go over for that depending on where the aussies play

Wonder where there are going to play games over there i would say LA would be a chance.

Their main ground is in Lauderhill, Florida they also might have one in dallas as well i remember reading somewhere a while back

Was only playing T20 in comps round the world last couple of years, but now is done with it all

South African cricket icon AB de Villiers has officially retired from all forms of the game, saying the "flame no longer burns so brightly".

After retiring from the international level in 2018, de Villiers was unsuccessful in his attempts to return to the Proteas' side for the 2019 50-over World Cup, but continued to ply his trade in domestic competitions around the world, including a stint with the Brisbane Heat in the BBL.

However, the 37-year-old has now played his last game, having last appeared in the Indian Premier League in October for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

"It has been an incredible journey, but I have decided to retire from all cricket," de Villiers said in a statement on Twitter.

Outstanding cricketer. Probably the best in the last 20 years across every facet and plenty aren't ever going to reach the level he set...

To put it in context, there's blokes, IMO, with a tenth of his talent playing Test cricket now and/or earning squillions in the IPL.... they wouldn't hold a candle to to Abraham Benjamin.... Well played Bru!

Watching him live in the 2015 WC tee off against the windies at the SCG was incredible.

He went from 89 to 162 not out in the last 4 overs of the innings

I was at that game too. I remember about 40 overs in to the SA innings, me and my mate were thinking, Windies are doing well here, they might be able to keep this chase low enough to win....and then Boom! AB just went nuts and all of a sudden the posted 400+! Lol

It was like you were playing cricket 07 on the ps2 and teeing off every ball instead it was real life.

It was definitely the most exciting innings i have seen live
