I'm talking about as a sport. I could care less about ratings.
It was the 4th highest programme ever on pay TV, the other 3 are Yawnion games.Smh online reporting the opening game of the Big Bash rated 858,000. Isn't that like double the highest NRL game?

It takes a Yawnion final in something to even rate
The marquee match of the opening round of the BBL, the game between Warner's Sydney Thunder and the Shane Warne-enriched Melbourne Stars, drew an average of 488,000 Foxtel viewers, with an overall reach of 900,000 viewers, easily the highest numbers posted for the domestic T20 competition.
They broke the 342,000 average and 858,000 reach, which measures how many viewers tune in for at least 60 seconds, set the previous night in Sydney in the Brisbane Heat-Sydney Sixers match. Before that, the biggest television audience for T20 cricket in this country was the 316,000 mark recorded in the 2009-10 Big Bash final.
So how is the BBL rating after the first week? Is it maintaining those solid numbers or falling back?
Not sure whether I am reading it right but it definitely looks like a downward trend. Week 52 was averaging over 300k but week 53 was averaging about 250k.
