YES we're through but the bizarreness of that last 10 minutes spoiled it a bit. i mean simunic had 2 yellows and he's still on then there was a goal but it didnt count then he sent someone off. truly odd but yes go aussie i knew we could do it

That is the best result in the history of Australian soccer. Croatia are about the weakest team to qualify from Europe, but this match demonstrates that Australia would have a chance of qualifying through Europe, which most Europeans would have laughed at.

You should be seriously proud of Oz tonight.

That finish completely drained me. It basically robbed me of my ability to go absolutely nuts over qualification. I was cheering like crazy for the Kewell equaliser, but that finish just felt 'meh' to me. Stupid Graham Poll, he's worse than Merk.

Still, bring on Italy. They score early, they'll sit back.

Hiddink, if you must experiment with keepers, use Covic.

Why do you feel sorry for him? It's his job and he wasn't up to it. He may be a fine club keeper, but he's just not good enough for the world stage. He's proven as much already, but tonight solidified the belief. The free kick was forgiveable, the second goal was not. An under eights keeper could have saved that.
