It usually falls to Viduka, but his record at this level speaks for itself.

Why do you feel sorry for him? It's his job and he wasn't up to it. He may be a fine club keeper, but he's just not good enough for the world stage. He's proven as much already, but tonight solidified the belief. The free kick was forgiveable, the second goal was not. An under eights keeper could have saved that.

He is a rubbish club keeper.

Regarding free kicks, the job normally goes to a midfielder. A striker's job is to operate when crowded and deal in flicks, very different to a free kick where there is plenty of time.

This means penalties are frequently taken by midfielders.

that last minute was weird i mean i thought it was a goal and it looked like he gave it but then he blew full time and gave his third yellow card to simunic and all of a sudden the whole squad is on the pitch
