Considering only three countries play league seriously it's nothing to get excited about.

which 3 countries is that

aus

gb
png - tell png they dont play the game seriously
russia
france - team in super league in next couple of years
fiji

samoa

Let's see....Australia, NZ and Great Britain.
Rugby League is played all around the world.

In France, League was banned in 1941 by the Nazis. They continued playing against all sorts of threats.

In Papua New Guinea, Rugby League is regarded as a national sport.

Don't think you can get more serious than that.

Oh it's serious, but is it competetive? Not often, therefore it's not taken seriously by many others.

That's an excellent point, but I guess it would depends on what you mean by competitiveness.

For example: 2 crap French sides playing each other would be competitive, as opposed to Australia V France and so on..

By many others?

If you don't mind me saying, that's a fairly nasal attitude. Although I'm suspect you didn't mean it that way.
It's certainly taken seriously in PNG and the RL world doesn't end at Artarmon.

Competitiveness is dictated by the competition available. I dare say, the PNG Rugby League is more competitive than most. If we are fair dinkum about supporting the game, we have to accept that there are other competitions outside of the NRL.

The question was... "how many countries play Rugby League seriously?"
Despite the uneasy giggles, there are obviously more than three countries taking it seriously.
Naturally, if there are those who wish to rubbish the international game, that's their choice.
