We got a few thousand less against literally the worst attended team in the comp. Penrith have the 2nd worst home attendance, 2nd worst away attendance, and overall worst combined attendance in the league by a significant margin.

The roosters also don't claim to have eleventy billion members.

Lastly, we have a higher home crowd average than you so far in 2013 so suck it

Then why don't you have more members?

As far as your higher home crowd average is concerned

It's only because three of your home matches this year have been against Sydney based teams that pull a good crowd. (Souths, Canterbury and Dragons)

Plus the massive advantage of playing home matches on public holidays (Easter Monday and Anzac Day.)

So dire that they had to move the game to Darwin last year

That was a great move.

Taking a home match to Darwin against the Cowboys who are used to playing in the sweltering heat.

And they say we're the ones on the metho.

We don't give out free memberships to charity cases and dead people

So what your saying is we only have a higher average than you because more people have turned up to our games than yours.

Thanks genius

Yep we certainly have a great club who along with the dragons have built what was an average crowd pulling game into a traditional juggernaut that is the envy of the other 14 clubs in the competition.

I suppose we should discount Souths home average last year and the dogs this year because they've built up a strong average boosting Easter Friday game as well, yes?

so figures are all bullshit

Firmer figures
Clubs should be concerned about NRL chief executive Dave Smith's crackdown on crowd figures. For years clubs have inflated the numbers and the NRL has accepted them. Smith wants the real figures, which could affect the game's saleability. There is sure to be a 10 per cent drop in reported crowds. The game under most serious suspicion is the Bulldogs-Souths Good Friday game, where a record 51,686 crowd was posted. Given that Todd Greenberg is coming in as the head of football for the NRL, we'd hope the Canterbury CEO has no part in inflating crowds now or in the future. When contacted about the Good Friday figure, Greenberg said he stood by it as being correct.

From my understanding a lot of clubs often fudge crowd figures by skimming numbers off the top of very high drawing games and sprinkling them over low attending games to reduce the amount of low crowds but still maintain a true average for the season.Anyone at the ANZAC day clash would agree that the odds of there actually being 4000 spare seats in that joint were slim to none, for example, so I'd expect to see any low drawing monday night game we have coming up to get a little boost.

Clubs get paid based on how many people go through the gates don't they? So it would be a detriment to the stadiums for them to report consistently inflated crowd numbers (unless of course they keep the true figures to themselves for contract purposes then release inflated crowds publicly).

No. It means some figures have been inflated. Other Codes do it as well.

But it suits you to put a totally negative spin on it.

Smith is simply saying we will no longer be a part of it.

Out of interest, what are ticket prices like in Sydney? Just bought a family ticket (1 adult + 1 child) for myself and my daughter to go to the Dragons vs Tits match this afternoon. $51 (plus Ticketek's add-ons) - and that's the cheapest seats in the stadium. f**king ripoff.

The problem is some teams in all codes are doing it. Titans seem to be but if they don't then because the AFL team are fudging crowds then there will be all these articles about how the Titans are being smashed by AFL. Despite the fact the real AFL crowds are 5 or 6k. It wouldn't be to hard to prove if the journos wanted to. Take some still photos of the stands of Titans, Suns, GWS and Melbourne union games and count the people.

They can write about it as long as they have some proof and are subjective accross all codes

Titans are by far the worst. They even have "premium" for some sections which is just the first dozen or so rows of the sections which they charge 6-8 bucks more for!!

Aren't most GA seatins in Sydney for an adult say $15-$20?

Depends on the stadium. Bulldogs charge $20 if you guy them online before the game (But then ticketek adds their commision to it which makes it $26), or you can buy them at the door for $25.

Lol there are about 2000 people at the Canberra giants at homebush

Reported figure will surely be over inflated, particularly given they need to justify all that taxpayers money they scored to play there.

Thought it was in Canberra. Even better in Sydney, guess the third team may have to wait a little longer.
