Last season we talked about why Newcastle was not included in the competition when Penrith was admitted in 1967. One of the reasons was because the local Newcastle competition was too strong. I found this video which shows the sort of crowd. I am somewhere below the scoreboard. Fr. John Cootes in no. 3 for the Rosellas.

Uh oh

f**k me raiders maybe stop worrying about investing in bunnings stores in queens land and stop getting out drawn by a club from black town and Melbourne.

GWS at Manuka got - 11,092

If that is a legit pax then the NRL and the Raiders need to sit down and nut this one out. Maybe give the Raiders more afternoon games, or get a commitment from the new Federal Government that an indoor stadium will be build by 201X, or have a similar deal to what the Storm did last Monday.

I realise 2 out of form teams played at (probably a cold) night but less than 10K is unacceptable for NRL level

Canberra are getting a new stadium.

And there is no way GWS tickets were all paid.

Souths have copped a lot of sh*t from people on here for their crowds being to low considering their membership and all that. Tonight was an incredible crowd that few teams in the comp can ever lay claim to (30K+ against an out of town team). It really was a great crowd and the atmosphere sounded awesome.

Not worried about the Canberra crowd too much. I'd imagine that's about par the course for a game against the warriors there especially with the poor start to the year for both teams. Hopefully their crowds pick up after a few good wins.

Weather was fine at the game. Crowd was vocal but should have been larger.

There is no way mongball got a crowd of 11000+. More like 7000.

As far as the raiders are concerned, anything sub 10000 is poor but a lot of fans have lost trust in the raiders because of our inconsistency. If we start winning consistently the crowds will return.

Nah, despite all the freebies/promotions for the fumbleball crowd, I'd say 11k is fairly accurate. When I flicked over I actually thought it was slightly more.

As for the Raiders you can't rely on winning and consistently to grow your crowds, it's simply unrealistic.
