Decent broncos wanted the sunday afternoon slot and failed imo, should be 35k plus. Sunday afternoon crowds should be higher than Friday. Lions got 25k on one win for god sake. Bronco crowds should have a bigger gulf againist the other codes.

Are you and Cumberland Throw the same person?

The Warriors crowds this year are impressive. Taking a couple of games to a bigger ground has helped boost their avg. are they the most supported sporting team in NZ by averages? I thought all the Super Rugby sides avg less than that until recently at least.

Surely one of the best post Origin crowd weekends ever?

probably but it could be even better with standalone weekends. people talk about giving other codes a free kick, but we already only play 4-5 games in those weeks AND have a rep round for city country and aus vs nz. Also start Origin a little later to keep that momentum going from the first 10 rounds. It got halted a little by rep round.

They have the largest crowd ave in NZ by some margin.

I'm surprised broncos crowds are not 40k plus avg. they have everything in their favour and are in a very similar situation to WC Eagles in terms of dominance of popularity of the main sport of city, profile, profit, level of success, etc yet Eagles sell out every game before the season starts and will likely avg 50k plus when they move to the new Perth stadium, and have to share the sport supporter base with a second team in the Dockers.

Genuine questions:
1. Is RL not as popular in Brisbane as AFL in Perth?
2. Are the Broncos disliked by a large number of RL fans in Brisbane?
3. Is Brisbane a multi sport city so RL just doesn't dominate as the main sport?
4. Would a second Brisbane team get decent supporter base or is Brisbane saturated with Broncos drawing most of the RL fans willing to go to a NRL game?

All their home games are Friday nights (bar today) and live on free to air tv. Their ticket prices are also pretty shit, $50 to sit at the end and on the 2nd tier (this is what my mates and I paid for the parra game) is an example.

Lets be honest a rising tide lifts all boats...

If you in a competition that average 33,000 per game... you will strive to be around 33,000 crowds and not be happy until you get close...

If your in a competition that average 17,000, and you get 35,000 u will be lazy and complacent...

Ever played sport against a really good team,, your performance improves, play a bad team you drop to their level.,,,

Whether AFL in perth is more popular than RL in brisbane is a moot point

Pretty sure the eagles are only averaging 35k and fremantle are averaging a lot less than capacity as well. as for Brisbane, it's a town that worships the hot ticket like stefon on snl.

its because they know that charging more for the tickets will increase the money they make. They've probably got a lot of data which says that most people will come to the footy whether tickets are $25 or $40. So they charge $40 but lose maybe a few thousand each game. The NRL should require a standard of $20-25 for GA for every game at a maximum. Then Broncs would start averaging 40k+
