Yeah 12-13k at sharks. That's very poor at kogarah, although I did think it looked more.

Fans bitch and whinge about wanting games at suburban grounds but mostly don't turn up to the fixtures played there.

For those having a whinge about Gosford last night. The mariners played an elimination final tonight and got 9,045 turning up. Consider they have been perennial contenders for a decade and only break the 10k barrier 2-2 times a season. Manly and the cowboys getting more than the mariners average and finals fixture speaks volumes.

Mariners certainly should be doing better crowd wise, but we are talking about the Central Coast here. Rugby League down to it's toenails.
Crowing about beating a soccer crowd just shows what dire crowds the NRL is getting at the moment.
League should be doing better, but a Manly home match against the Cowboys was never going to draw a full stadium anyway. Poor planning by the NRL and Manly imo.

Still don't see the need for negativity. One nrl side from sydney can outdraw the mariners. Any combination of souths, manly, newcastle, tigers can pack the place. And those are just the teams who play there frequently recently. No need for concern on the coast the crowds are what they are and the local league is amoug the strongest in the country. That being said I agree it was a silly fixtre conceived by the nrl, manly and the networks

My post wasn't meant to sound negative mate. All I was saying is I don't think it's any claim to fame to outdraw the Mariners. Rugby League SHOULD be doing that.
If anything, I think the Mariners could be doing better, but they do ok in a Rugby League strong hold.

The A-League crowds peaked in 2007/08 before expanison occurred. That season, the Mariners got 3 crowds that were 18k+

Anyways, are there any more NRL matches in Gosford this year or is that it for the season?

12k against a starstudded reigning premiers isn't good for anyone. If that was Souths we'd be bagged for the crowd.

Meh about average and what I expected. More disappointed in the kogarah showing for a team on the up at its spiritual home with 18k members!

12k for last place sharks isn't too bad for where there at on the ladder. Eels vs tigers should hit a home run of a great crowd considering panthers vs titans got sub 10k potential and the raiders gotta raiders like usually poor crowd.
