The media is basically telling people to not got to games during the Origin period.

frankly I am amazed at the crowds we do get during this period.

Where are the Rooster fans, all went to the Swans game today???

Looking at the scg members behind the cameras it is as empty as I have seen it in recent years. I would say a fair amount of those members went to the swans today and didn't back up and go allianz. Other than that a lot of our fans have stayed away regardless of for., maybe the opposition don't look appealing or the origin effect. But imo it should still be more than tonight with the quality side we have

Any crowd which is under the NRL season average is a disgrace no matter who is playing, whether it be Paul Gallen vs the Socceroos, the Panthers vs the Benji's or the Eels vs the Dallas Cowboys
HT knows.
Wouldn't that make approximately 50% of crowds a disgrace!

Im not sure guy,a mathematician like Bunniesman would know
Actually more than half the games are below the average because the outliers when it comes to crowds are at the upper rather than the lower. So it would be something like 55% of games.

The media isn't discouraging people from going. The NRL is. With the schedule they insist on they basically say this part of the calender is not important. With an attitude like that from them then why would hard working aussie battlers bother to spend a load of money watching teams missing many of their best players.

Seeing as the Swans crowd was 41k and Easts got about a quarter of that it probably had a positive influence. There would have been some people who crossed the street to the SFS after the game at the SCG finished.

The coaches and players want stand alone origin. I beleive the fans would accept it but the nrl seeing dollar signs from the prolonged origin period is not nudging.

I think our biggest problem is too many games watering down the product. Stand alone origin and reduce the schedule to 22 games per club with no byes sounds reasonable to me. It would give less games to sell initially with 16 teams but expanding to 18 will give more (18 x 11 home games)

13.8k for Penrith is an outstanding result. More than double last year's same fixture - 6,271.

Rorters could be the only team in the history of professional sport to have their crowds halved the season after winning a competition.

Crowd wise, the Roosters bring nothing, they're untouchable and have been for very long, they must be bringing in large sponsorship dollars to the NRL or have friends in high places, because questions about the Roosters crowds are never asked about

The only time the Roosters fans I know care about the game enough to go is when they're either well on top or in the finals, both from around Sydney and north. Couldn't give two shits in 2012. Starting to believe that's the case for a lot of them.

We had a terrible crowd tonight no disputing that however the NRL has got to be the dumbest sport organisation in the world or they just dont care about crowds.

The Swans have a day time game at the modern SCG while the NRL puts a game on at the old and tired SFS minus origin players at 730pm,2 and a half hrs after the swans finish..fans of both sports are going to go to the day game however no one is going to go to both as that means starting at the SCG at 2 then leaving at 5 and having a 2 and a half hr wait till the Roosters game, no one with a family could do that or afford that. the NRL knows the AFL draw in advance so why put this game on at this time?

I could not agree more about how bad the crowd was yet the NRL need to be smarter. Fans want day games yet the Roosters have not had one arvo home game all year. Putting this game on at this time was a major mistake.

once again. $1.2 billion broadcast deal means Ch Nine can do whatever the f**k they want. And they want an evening game.

Can't blame solely nine for this, it is all parties involved. The nrl clearly put crowds second and the networks want night games.

Oh dear, we've now got to the stage where we blame the NRL for not taking into consideration an AFL game taking place in Sydney when coming up with the draw.
