As the game went on the crowd looked bigger and bigger,i swear heaps of people just turned up half way through the game,the crowd looked bigger in the 60th min than it did at 10 mins,drunk punters turning up willy nilly over in New Zealand.

Pretty certain I read somewhere that capacity was 18k. The 30k on the wiki is definitely wrong though. The two Union world cup games in 2011 hosted there both got 17k.

Why is a crowd figure automatically underwhelming because of a ground's capacity?

By the logic most regular season crowds for the AFL at the MCG are pathetic :/

Pretty certain I read somewhere that capacity was 18k. The 30k on the wiki is definitely wrong though. The two Union world cup games in 2011 hosted there both got 17k.

The venue has a capacity of 18,500.

We had 48 thousand turn up to Suncorp because the code wants to see internationals.
We have 16 thousand turn up in NZ bay of isalnds, that has a lower population than Lord Howe island, and the game itself was world class.
Instead of the All-blacks and America , we should be selling Kiwis Samoa, 'the new black' to the world.

People are bored, they want something new.

Our code sells itself short because we have a admin that was sydney centric and run like dinosauras.,

Having Milford sit on the sidelines is criminal.

And NSW wanting to poach Joey Leilua is a classic example of the Sydney dinosaur attitude of a backward thinking where fans think Gallen is cool to call his boss a C#%t.

I know where you're coming from, but I'd just like to think given that we want internationals to be the pinnacle of our game that we should expect capacity wise it'd be high especially in relatively small stadiums; the MCG is huge of course. However, looks like wiki is wrong, so if it's basically 90% capacity its a great result.

yesterdays crowd was great. big team against small international team at a small town. lets see how the crowd for next weeks Aus/Samoa game goes as it'll be similar situation.

I'll be driving down to the gong and watching the game with 8+ family members. looking forward to it.
