Bay 34-->40 Practically Sold out. Next available for Category 1 is Bay 33 which is a Manly Bay so I think they're they're selling tickets to Souths members in the Manly bays now although I could be wrong.

I noticed this as well earlier today.

Ticketek Online are useless.

Tonight there are now better seats available in Bay 35 (halfway) then what I could get online at 10am.

Also love how they are only offering category 1 tickets on the Eastern Side of the stadium.

Wonder if it's a tactic to ensure they fill up the Eastern side so that it looks better for the tv coverage.

Unrealistic or not, I don't understand how any Sydney club can't manage at least 20k fans each to attend a finals game. I think the game has reached a point where it should be expected.

The game hasn't reached that point, yet. I think the crowd v Penrith will get low 20k at most

It's not that Penrith don't have a good supporter base, but for a lot of them Moore Park for a night game is a nightmare of a place to get to and from when you live right on the other side of Sydney 60-70-80km away. And hey, its on free to air. The NRL have got their billion dollars. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

10,000 Richmond fans went from Melbourne to Adelaide last weekend.

And Souths have got the biggest crowd averages in Sydney 2 years in a row despite playing well away from our historical territory.

Using the distance from Penrith to Moore Park (or Manly to Moore Park) is a terrible reason to excuse those clubs from not even being able to deliver crowds in a final.

Bought mine just before 11am and PAX is 2995.

Sounds like someone's stirring shit.

The Chookpen sold out in the first few hours too. Shame the NRL limited it to one bay, we were filing 3-4 bays last year and it was great for the atmosphere. Actually quite ticked about this... hopefully they'll extend it to more bays.

But given souths is the only club of the above four with any fans its funny how that is turned upside down.

I actually don't agree with that at all. Just like i don't agree with the fact that people constantly state that Manly fans don't travel. This whole "manly fans don't travel" thing has been beaten to death, especially in the media.

Think of it this way, Manly got a pretty good crowd against the Panthers 2 weeks ago on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we could agree for arguments sake that 90% of that 18,000 were Manly fans. That stadium holds what, 20,000 fans maximum and it's packed to capacity. The same theory can pretty much be applied to Penrith.

So why are people surprised that only 16,678 people (most likely 95% Manly fans) turned up to watch Manly play the Cowboys in 2012?

18,000 Manly/Penrith supporters is about all these clubs can get to any given game because that's all they have. If they had more then Brookie/Penrith Stadium would be packed to capacity every week.

I went to Roosters Penrith in 2010 (I think) and it was a pretty shit crowd, only 23000 and barely any Penrith fans. Hopefully both sets of supporters turn up in numbers for what should be a pretty good game

I was at that game in 2010 and there were not many Penrith fans there. But really, can you blame them? even though 2010 we came 2nd, we were playing crap and lucked into the finals. We all knew that we would bow out it straight sets. This year is different. We just don't know what will happen, and are a chance in every game

If say 1000 fans attended in 2010 (week 2 finals), then 5k will attend this year. Problem is, will the fans make the trip? Only time will tell.

I would think that the roosters and Penrith will get 25-30k. It's on a Saturday evening and both sides have a great buzz with excellent form. I do agree that in 2010 it was a pretty flat buildup for the match up and most felt it was an inevitable result. This time I actually feel we are in danger of losing with key forwards out.

For Souths and manly it's on a Friday night so if the Nrl were smart they would be targeting a big walk up from workers. And it is helped by having Souths territory nearby so I will say nudging 30k which going off past week 1 qualifiers in this system would be an improvement

Roosters & Souths have both sold out their allocated hot seats. Should add some colour and atmosphere. Probably should've made it a whole bay, I imagine they'll be a big hit in the finals games from here on in.

At the moment it looks like there will be more Panther supporters on Saturday than Manly fans on Friday !
