The NRL needs to address ticket prices and scheduling. Families don't want to go to night games, particularly Sunday and Monday night.

Fans want Sunday afternoon.

As posted in the game thread there's been 4.5k pre-sales for the Storm v Rabbits Friday night which is very good with it only being Friday. With that number obviously growing as the week goes on and the members on top of that it looks like a 20k+ crowd for the big game.

It's a game worthy of a 20,000 plus crowd

14th.

12800 odd. Terrible. But again, afternoon would have been 15-16 minimum

Not a single day game at kogarah or leichhardt this year...

you think it's not a deliberate ploy?

they want numbers for the argument that no one turns up to suburban grounds.

Heres a shocking stat. Of 56 games played between Sydney clubs in Sydney only 11 where/are afternoon games and 14 are Monday night footy! There will never be more than a snails pace in crowd improvements while the disproportionate amount of night games remains and matchups such as tonight and Souths v dragons continue to be played on Monday nights

well said. And they wonder why our crowds aren't that flash this year in Sydney.

I bought mine on 26th July and it had pax no. 12,228. Agree it'll be 20k plus.

Kogarah had one Sunday afternoon game, against Newcastle. It drew 15K - their biggest Kogarah crowd this season. Says alot really.

Not a bad call! Wouldn't surprise.
Its also important to note that June was an terrible month for weather and this must have impacted negatively on crowd figures.
I also believe that Monday night games should not be played during the Origin series period and perhaps not at all unless it is a public holiday, and even then the afternoon would be better!

Mixed bag this weekend imo

Does anyone know which game is live in each state?

Storm V Rabbits 21k
Parra V Tigers 12k (both sides will fancy a rare win so could be more)
Easts V Raiders 14k
Sharks V Newcastle 12k
Manly V warriors 9k
Broncos V Dragons 27k
Penrith V Cowboys 7k
Doggies V Titans 12k

Av = 14,250

Very weak matchups this round. I would think it should be easy to have balanced draw where every round is anchored by a decent Sydney derby!

If I where Gus I would open the gates or flog the tickets for dirt cheap as Cowboys on a sunday night just ticks all the boxes for nightmare crowd in the making

I also am pretty pessimistic about the rest of the season crowd wise. I think we will finish around 15,800

Parramatta v Manly - Round 23, 1983 - crowd 25,028 @ Belmore

I actually recall that. A couple of other big crowds in both Dog Eel games that year.

Freak attendances as the average for that entire year was less than 7k.

Melb v Souths live game.

We have cheap tickets as we did last week. $11 Adult + kid package. Wont help no one wants to watch us like we are playing

Manly V Warriors will draw 13,000 plus. Plenty of NZs about and it is an easy to get to venue. Mind you, I would be dirty if I were a Manly fan that it is not at Brookvale!
