People outside of QLD wouldn't believe the free run the Lions get in the Courier-Mail thanks to the Victorian sports editor. Their avg crowds have dropped by over 10K (if they were accurate crowds and not the inflated figures it's be much more) in less than a decade.
Yet all we read is how more people are going to AFL games in QLD than ever, the game is thriving and shit like that.

It's the exact same thing down here with the swans and midgets

And if the crowd is low 30s it is still very close to the expected 35k. One of the best crowds of the season. Nuff said.
