I'm moving to Melbourne soon. I'll be going to any good Storm games and contributing to their crowd averages.

Double that.

And a great crowd. About 40% greater than the competitions season average.

You're only 22? I thought you were senile.

We got 15,600 & 14k against Parra. Fact is we need away fans. Playing every team outside of Sydney at home cost us atleast 2k average. The membership price drop & other changes for next year will help.

need away fans so Penrith has a weak core supporter base that need tone prop up by away fans. so much for'heartland'

Lots of the Dogs fans were on level 2 or level 4 or whatever it is, but we easily outnumbered them by something like 18k:11k.

Was expecting 35k tonight, a bit disappointing. I think Souths/Roosters will get 30 if it's a dead rubber, late 30's if it's for the minor premiership

Disgusting crowd by souths again. Will they ever live up to their alleged membership base

The funny thing is we are more than likely going to finish with the highest average attendance in Sydney and the 2nd highest in the NRL..... good post

As far as rl history goes its not a bad crowd

Dogs v Souths at Belmore used to get 6000 only 20 years ago

It just sucks that the swains with f**k all "real" community support can get 40k at ANZ ( check tv ratings )

Whilst the game that we all talk about all week can't get 30k with 2 top Sydney sides

TBH, I was very much surprised there weren't more Doggies fans in the bays assigned for members.

They usually turn out in force.

You need 5000 more fans to turn up to your next home game than turned up tonight... and you don't have 10,000+ free tickets given out to that game like you did tonight (dogs ticketed members).

If the minor premiership and top 2 is already sewn up - which it will be if both Souths and Easts win this week and next week - then we could well see a few players getting a rest that weekend before the finals as well.

I predict 31k for that game. I had thought 50k was on the cards but given the pretty poor crowd tonight and the fact the minor premiership may not actually be on the line then I have a feeling the crowd is going to be lower than expected.

Hawthorn vs Richmond 3 weeks ago drew 64,000, Hawthorn vs Collingwood last week drew 71,000. Imagine souffs or Canterbury at ANZ drawing crowds like those against other Sydney teams. That is what we should be aiming at. At the absolute least, we should be able to draw 40-50k to our Sydney blockbusters, and we shouldn't be satisfied until we do.

Was disappointed with tonight. Should've been at least 35k.

Dogs turnout was maybe 2/3 what was expected but even we could've brought 2-3k more.

There are fundamental problems with Sydney as a city and those problems have in part led to issues with Sydneys culture.

The way the city is designed, it is simply not easy to get around. Decades of shit state governments have done nothing to build world class roads or public transport systems. And then you have a giant harbour, while being very pretty, really just gets in the way.

Those are all problems Melbourne doesn't have to deal with.

And those problems have led Sydneysiders to simply not develop a mass attendance culture.

If we could go back 150 years, the Sydney region is the very last place we would want to build a massive sprawling metropolis.

Its always the other guys fault, isnt it.

Why dont we just say that there should have been more fans, not dogs fans or rabbits fans, just fans.

RL fans don't need to support the local team there is plenty of posters here that live in Penrith but go for other teams.

In 46 years we have made the finals 9 times only once back to back.

Were tipped for the spoon. A study a month ago found us the most unappealing team.

So yes we have smaller fan base as does all rubbish teams.
