With reports that the West Tigers marriage is on thin Ice at board level, due to in part poor management and finances of Balmain and Penrith with seemingly endless resources and grand ambition but lack of community support.

What are the chances of Wests leaving Balmain and creating a super with the Panthers and creating the "West Sydney Panthers?"

With two of the most successful club groups in the land backing the venture,
a massive junior base in a RL heartland area the potential is endless.

It makes more sense geographically, games could be split between Campbeltown and Penrith initially, but with the potential of the club the State Gov would be foolish not to consider these areas for the proposed new Western Sydney Stadium.

That's so radical it might actually work

Its too nice a day to go to watch St George v Wests Tigers at 3pm on a saturday afternoon

Im not the only one thinking that either

don't get this Aussie mentality. In every other country it would be an incentitive to go to whatever sport is on

a nice touch today by the NRL would have been to let all club members in for free similar to the big retirement games of recent years. After all this game is dedicated to the renaming of the trophy that every club plays for

Ok the weather is too nice to go to football

I've heard it all

Too hot too cold too windy too early too late too dry too humid too moist

I mean f**k me ,

I say we play all games at 15,000 seat stadiums

All games will look pretty full on tv

For the millions of rl fans who can't be f**ked getting off the couch

What's the capacity of the SCG at the moment? Also, how on Earth is that stand going to be ready for the Ashes? Looks like they've barely done anything.

Sydney is now officially one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in. Maybe it's just too costly for families and singles that are paying off homeloans to afford.

As much as I would love us in Brisbane to get Saturday night games, a 3pm game on days like today would be diabolical.

Thousands would prefer to go to the beach.

The swans seem to manage to attract fans alright considering how few people care about them in Sydney.

Jesus what an excuse. I thought we heard enough of that earlier in the year with the titans.

The other factor where afl works in places like perth because there are no other options for things to do there

There is a plethora of things to do on a fine sunny day in syds. And there are other sports you can go see on at the same time

Ie nsw cup, shute shield, or your own sport!

Its up to the NRL to make it affordable enough that it is an option every week. At the moment games are way to overpriced relative to supply and demand

Wow, I expected a better crowd at the G. Perfect weather - I know both teams have nothing to play for but still, that is a surprise it was that low.

Honestly I don't think it would have got any more at kogorah. 14th v 15th with crap form so pretty much expected considering current crowd environment/culture
