u know i was really suprised at the lack of sharks fans that turned up to the kogarah match a few weeks ago. i mean its literally right next to sharks territory, its not like they had to travel far. poor form.

yeah, there was also a grand total of about 550 sharks fans (and thats being generous) at the dogs home game last week, and everyone gave it to us for a bad crowd :fist: If the sharks form continues i'm horrified at what to expect later in the season in terms of crowds...could end up lower than 5,000 pretty quickly IMO.

A bit disappointing tonight.

Whilst i was expecting it the crowd for the sharks is pretty bad.

The storm again it's disappointing. There may be a few reasons for it but we should be aiming for higher.

A local derby between 2 QLD teams you would be hoping for a sellout. I realise that was never going to happen but 18,000 seems a bit on the low side.

central coast sharks. I think the Perth/Adelaide franchises should be done properly in a few years time as its a new area. The Central Coast we already know is league, and I think they'd accept the Sharks as their own pretty quickly. I know there was issues with Northern Eagles but for some reason I think it will be different this time around. Plus Bluetongue is right on the beach, perfect to fit in with the "Sharks"

PLEASE NO!!! If we send a crappy, boring team like the sharks to the coast it will kill league there. I know they are starved of footy but i'm not sure what the sharks are offering up is much better.

You forget Cronulla drew:

18,217

18,256

17,241

17,547

to 4 of their home games last year.

All clubs are guilty of drawing poor crowds at some stage, to say on tonights crowd to kick them out or move them is just plain stupid.

The constant attacking of clubs (basically taking an emotive easy option) is ignoring the real problems in the game which run deeper and just cutting your nose to spite your face.

and whats funny is that some are souths supporters/ hangers on

they should know how it feels to have their team not in the comp but they have short memories

Well the Sharks are struggling and deserve the criticism. We finished last in 2008 and only won 5 games yet averaged over 15k, Sharks finish equal first and average 12k, that is not acceptable.

Hang on a minute, the top 4 clubs last year averaged the following:

Melbourne - 12,474

Manly - 13,694

Cronulla - 12,965

Roosters - 13,970

Hardly any great difference between the 4.

Well the decisions around Cronulla will remain pretty much the same if they don't attract huge crowds to the remainder of their home games. As I said, there was no reason that Sharks fans couldn't show up tonight, early Saturday night game on Easter weekend, no real threat of rain. It was pathetic, pure and simple.

Just not good enough Cronulla. Disgraceful. Sub-10,000 crowds just doesn't cut it any more. Whilst I don't want to see the Sharks get kicked out or relocate, in my humble opinion they are the one Sydney club that I consider most 'expendable', as they are sandwiched between St. George and Illawarra.

If Cronulla fans don't start to pull their finger out it might be bye bye Cronulla or maybe the Adelaide Sharks? Cronulla have a home game in Adelaide next week.

Bit like Parra's 11,000 v Raiders a couple of week's ago.

At least it was above 10,000 and the Raiders never draw well at Parra Stadium. And that Raiders game is likely to be Parra's worst crowd of the year... with the possible exception of the Cowboys game in round 8.

Not pleased with the crowd but every team has dog days and every team in the nrl has struggled at some point.Hell even in baseball teams like the yankees and redsox had times in the 80's and 90's where they could'nt draw a crowd

weather was $hit yesterday up here, bucketed down for half the day, would have turned a lot of people off going. Glad I went though, it's awesome seeing your team play like a$$ in person.

Small consolation, it was a mere 2,555 more, in supposed heartland with one of the most popular clubs in the game.

Surely your excuses for Parra can apply for Cronulla also?

Besides my point is stop beating up on clubs.

Alot of people calling for Cronulla's head would be the same who only a few years ago wanted Souths punted, now look at them.

Except Souths had huge potential for growth despite their mediocrity. Cronulla have a peninsular with a limited likelihood of exceeding that market.
