They learnt nothing from last week! The NRL are seriously mentally impaired. I'm surprised the clubs who rely on gate takings (as opposed to those who have stadium deals) don't kick up more of a fuss to get afternoon games.

AFL heartland could only 26% fill Etihad Stadium last night and the SCG looks half-full today...

And yeah, Monster Trucks. Similar market, less than 2km from the same ground in a non-RL-team area. Having that on nearby would've cost a lot of neutrals... not to mention the lead-up weather.

23,229 at the SCG.

LOL @ Monster Trucks being blamed for poor NSW crowds.

23,229 in a ground that holds 46,000 sounds like about 50% to me. Less full than Bluetongue in terms of capacity.

The NRL has no control over when games are played. Those decisions are made by Fox and Nine, and unfortunately whilst they are keen to put games which they feel will rate in their key rating spots of Friday Night, Monday Night this will keep happening.

If the NRL had its ways I'm sure you would have found neither of the two games played today would have been scheduled, with the Titans prefering night games, and well any of the other NSW games drawing better if played today.

What is there more exciting to do in Canberra on a sunday afternoon? The team are playing attractive footy, why aren't the fans turning up?

It was more than 75% full - the TV shot of the stadium not only looked packed, but the new southern stand and safety regulations etc means that full capacity would have to be less than the old 22,000+ record we set a while back.

If we don't want weather to inhibit crowds so much, we need better stadia with more seats sheltered.

Sounds like you guys in Sydney need a stadium like Etihad where a roof can be closed for cold and rainy weather.

It was raining since Wednesday on and off. It was raining most of the 1st 1/2 raining and cold.

Yet Sunday was fine no Games on in NSW  Good job NRL

Are you actually suggesting the NRL is to blame for not scheduling games according to the weather? Are you implying the NRL hold off scheduling games until they know how the weathers going to be? How late in the week should they make the call? Friday arv?

strange how fans of other codes don't seem to be put off by the weather. maybe the NRL should equip every fan with a rain mac!

No but every year around this time it always rains in NSW pashabaulker, Landslide over previous years. The couple of weeks leading up to long weekend it always bad conditions. Yet every year Night games get played and get bad crowds as a result.

How come the 1st and the last months of the season Qld can't have day games? Because it's 2 hot so why can't the same planning occur for mid season
