Why are Sydney fans so soft? We've had storms and heavy rains in Perth all week yet still 37,000 turned out on a rainy, cold, blustery Saturday night for a mid table team.

Monster trucks? Geez if RL can't compete with Monster Trucks on the CC should we be even thinking of going there?

AFL heartland could only 26% fill Etihad Stadium last night and the SCG looks half-full today...

And yeah, Monster Trucks. Similar market, less than 2km from the same ground in a non-RL-team area. Having that on nearby would've cost a lot of neutrals... not to mention the lead-up weather.

so how will the Bears survive if every time a minor event happens in the area the crowds drop below 10,000 (unless of course monster trucks is seen as a big event on the CC?)? or god forbid it should actually rain during winter!

Well as I described above, a game on the CC should be aiming to attract lots of neutrals. UNFORTUNATELY the d!ckhead promoting the monster trucks scheduled his little thing for the same night and a lot of neutrals would've reconsidered their options for the night.

You should also check your facts, below 10,000? It was a shade under 11,000 you goose.

If you're going to rubbish the CC to advance the Perth case, at least get your facts straight.

Alot of Bulldog fans made the trip up from Sydney including myself but i was expecting a bigger crowd. A couple of years ago the Bulldogs got 21k against the Storm at ANZ, this game would of at least got 15k if it was at ANZ but we had a good time at Gosford. Us army boys and girls made some good noise and its not easy to do that at ANZ

I'm at a loss as to how last nights crowd was 10.9k and the Roosters got 8.4k two weeks ago. Insane given how many MORE people were at the game last night, far more than just 2.5k extra.

I'm from Sydney and I was out there in the cyclonic conditions at Gosford......well ok, I left a little after half time but I could feel a severe case of hypothermia coming on...............that and the fact we were getting a new arse torn for us. :sarcasm:

The wind was terrible from gates opening tbh... it's a very cold stadium. Wish they'd give us some daytime games...

A true fan would have supported their teams till the final siren.

Bandwagoner.

The conditions at Gosford were not that bad last night, it was cold but not cyclonic and it rained for about 5mins during the game. And you left a little after half time, no faith in your side lolll

The weather on friday not was f**ked, i was working and it was pissing down, i wouldnt particularly wanna be outside in that weather.

No excuse for Penrith really, reasonable crowd for cronulla altho still only a tick over 75% full? For a club on the brink which needs fans thats not brilliant, and be interesting how many were dragons fans.

CC crowd looked slightly better than that on tv. Agreed tho that the monstor trucks is a sh*t excuse, altho it is also obvious that the CC is simply treated as a 'cash grab' by various clubs currently, and is hardly a comparrison to having a permanent club there.

It was more than 75% full - the TV shot of the stadium not only looked packed, but the new southern stand and safety regulations etc means that full capacity would have to be less than the old 22,000+ record we set a while back.

If we don't want weather to inhibit crowds so much, we need better stadia with more seats sheltered.

Gold Coast crowds seem to have settled around the 16-19k mark with the Broncos' derby likely to be the exception.
