Cronulla and Illawarra should have merged unfortunately. It's such a shame the Sharks were given enough money to plough through the consolidation era untouched.

why is it that Dragons always draw low crowds at Wollongong? :?

highest there must be 15k..
Probably something to do with the nature of the split draw

Kogarah has so far hosted Cronulla and Canterbury, both very high drawing sides, as well as Newcastle, who they got 14.5K for
WIN has had Nth Qld, Gold Coast, NZ and Penrith, the interstate/international sides dont bring great crowds generally (althought they got 13K at the Warriors game).
Kogarah still has Easts, Parra and Melbourne to play there, whilst Wollongong has Sea Eagles(should be a reasonable crowd you would hope) and Brisbane.

My thoughts exactly, the games at WIN Wollongong are the ones that have just been shafted there.

Yes but they "want their own team".

I'm sure Dubbo, Tamworth and Port Maquarie would like their own team as well, but....

I'd like to see the Bears back, but not before a second Brisbane and Perth team.

That's a great idea you've got there.

Instead of bringing in the Central Coast Bears why not bring in the North Brisbane Bears? It brings back my team and brings in the second Brisbane team the NRL needs.

I want my Bears back but is Central Coast the right option?

The big question would have to be whether Nicole Kidman would support a Bears option in Brisbane.

Logically WA Reds and Brisbane Bears would make the most sense with the NRL working harder to get an existing Sydney team to move to the CC. I fail to be convinced that the CC is large enough to sustain a future NRL team on its own but with a relocated team they can still tap into their existing fanbase, corporate support whilst adding the CC one.

Not sure how the Bears club would feel about going interstate though.

I wouldn't get a 2nd Brisbane side because I don't think they can handle more than 3 teams in SE QLD.

The next license there I feel should be sunshine coast, and just held aside until they are ready for it, which isn't now.

Buy default I'm inclined to say no to another NZ because I think it's a bit rough where QLD and NZ, areas of both approx. 4 million people where one has become the true heartland of RL and has 3 teams, ther other is hardcore RU with RL as an after thought getting 2 teams. I'd be pissed off as a QLD'er.

I live here in Perth, I didn't think they were ready, the response though over the week surprised me, and a solid team could have it ready in 2013 I now feel.

CC, well the best thing said I will paraphrase... 'take away the stadium, and the CC has less than central qld or port moresby'.

I honestly think the best scenario is to let the sharks die, replaced by the reds in 2013, with a directive from the NRL announcing that the sunshine coast and a 2nd NZ _WILL_ be admitted in 2015-8 sometime.

Cronulla did want to merge with illawarra before the dragons, but Illawarra didnt want to change thier colours or lose the name Illawarra completely ,

I thought the crowd(26,000) was shocking in brisbane for the broncos and bulldogs game, 2nd vs 4th should have attracted 35000-40000 +

35,000 tickets sold and only 26k show up.

It wasn't the most settled build up to a football game.

It was the last true Broncos' blockbuster at home for the year. I can't see where they are going to pull another 40k plus crowd from (barring the double header)

Ive Changed my mind with the bears as the crowds are way to small, i think they should only get in if its a sell out every time someone plays there, when they are so close to Sydney almost the whole crowd would of traveled up from Sydney, which makes the crowds really small, or the people from Gosford are not supporting the Sydney teams coming up, but it just makes the central coast look bad, they should be supporting any team that comes up.

Yeh well the Swine flu hysteria didn't help at all, the crowd would of certainly been at least 35k if it had been a normal build up. Also the Dragons should be looking at there crowds, coming first and only 11k from the "biggest supporter base in the game":lol::lol: always makes me laugh.

And dont use rain as an excuse, we have had a couple of games this year with terrible whether but still got 19k and 22k.

Fair enough..if you guys say so. I have to admit I missed most of the 2nd half as friends popped over...looked pretty sparse in the 1st half to me.

Not when there was talk of the game being cancelled and Brisbane basically saying they had no chance, if you saw eariler in the thread, there were over 35k tickets sold for the clash but only 26k turned up, it says something doesnt it.

There were also people in the ends of the Thornett stand (TV camera side), which normally indicates a decent crowd.
