Average for the ANZAC weekend last year was 17,017 - and that was inflated by a Brisbane home game (38,000 odd).

That may be comfortably beaten by the end of the round.

So that's...

Parramatta Stadium - 18,107
Penrith Stadium - 17,998
Toyota Park - 17,864

All of those grounds have, give or take, a capacity of around 20,000 or so. To have 3 venues virtually full on the one night in Sydney is a great effort and shows that these good averages haven't just been one-round-wonders. More people are going to games more often and it's a good sign for the comp.

Cheers.

Expect similar crowds tomorrow with all 3 games to be decent figures.

Manly/Souths= VERY close to capacity (19-20000)
Knights/Dogs= 16000
Raiders/Storm= 15000

And the ANZAC clash between the roosters & dragons should get atleast 30000.

Good crowds will continue

What an awesome night of footy! Loved all three games (even though I was really rooting for the Tiges and Sharkies).

Rugby League bloody rules.

This is superb  .

Say (Conservatively)

17k @ Brookie
13k @ Bruce
15k @ Marathon
24k @ SFS

Round 7=123k!

sh*t. Before last week, we never had a round without the Assistance of a Double header or a Broncos home match that exceeded 120k fans under the current 7 matches a round fromat  .

Nothing short of amazing. 54k in Sydney on a Saturday night.

what happened to those outside of the stadium at the kick off?

Some just missed the start of the game, quite a lot just went home, crowd would have been well over 20,000 if people could buy tickets.

They should have opened the gates, then make Ticketek compensate them for the loss in gate takings. As it stands, even if Ticketek do compensate them, the club still has some disgruntled fans that might not bother coming next time. They should have let them in to keep them happy
i agree i was at the game and i was told that they did open the gates and let them in,but i'm not sure can anyone confirm or deny this

With just under 54k this round, with 2 more games in Sydney left, we need just over 46k to get over the hundred thousand mark. 28k at the SFS, 18k at Brookvale, EASY. ;-)

I doubt there's ever been 100k Sydneysiders at RL matches in one weekend, at an average of 20k, no less. ;-)

To give everyone an idea on just how much things have imropved - using last night as an example - have a look at what those 3 games got last year at the same venues.

2004 (2005):

Parramatta v Wests - 14,196 (18,107)
Penrith v North Qld - 12,391 (17,998)
Cronulla v Brisbane - 12,565 (17,864)

Average - 13,051 (17,990)

An increase of just under 5,000 on average.

Cheers.

not sure how many will roll up in canberra, its been very quiet around town with seemingly lots of people away for the weekend. the storm dont pull many (though the way they play really should) and the raiders are rank underdogs.

however it is a lovely day in the nations capital so it would be good to see 12-13k out there getting behind our kids.
