I second David Woods, poor bastard could of been anything. I remember the night in 1995 when he tore the dogs a new one pretty much by himself. And then was injured badly the next week.

Eric Grothe Senior from 1986 onwards could barely get on the field, the joke was he even got injured once tripping over the halfway line.

Scott Geddes. He deserves a medal for courage and resilience for playing 125 games across 11 very injury prone seasons.

Outside of guys mentioned. Adam Docker had his career cut short from injury at 24 years of age. Started 2015 doing an emerging blues camp. Finished it having only managed one game and retiring due to a busted knee with no cartilage.

Brett Finch. Was literally cursed by the Crookwell witch to never win a premiership. It worked because the only time he won one it was stripped 6 months later.
He won a premiership. All those Storm players from 2007 and 2009 regard it as a win.

Even though he did most of it to himself, I feel Todd Carney was cursed..

He even got in trouble for selling his old and the new owner finding his dong shot on it.

Also, he lost a grand final with the roosters, only for them to win it the following season, or one after that.

Adam Blair was the best forward in the game than the Toxic west tigers culture turned him into a massive plodder

He had the potential to be the greatest forward the game had ever seen

From a British/Wigan POV:

Nigel Wright, could have been the next great British halfback in the 90s but ended up retiring age 27.
Dom Manfredi, he's only played 10 games since August 2016 because of multiple knee surgeries. When fit he's arguably the best winger England has.

Yeah Taniela Tuiaki. Broke his ankle at the SFS the night Eels played Tigers during that late 09 season run. Was a cracking game of footy, Benji threw a magic behind the back pass to put his winger over, Hayne did that chip and chase where the ball bounced sideways back in to his hands to score.... Poor Taniela's career ending injury is overlooked from what happened that night.

Can't believe that was 10 years ago.

One more vote for Kyle Stanley.

Why all the sympathy for Kyle Stanley? He's since become a success on the US PGA Tour.
