At the end of a story about the Rorters...

While down in the Sutherland Shire, the equally revered Peachey is keen for at least two more years in the NRL.

Yet, the 11-year Sharks' stalwart may have no option but to sign the tabled 12-month deal put to him on Friday having received little interest elsewhere.

Peachey's manager Daryl Mather said the former Origin custodian was not unhappy with the offer, but would prefer a two-year deal.

"He would like to think he could play in the NRL for another two years," Mather said yesterday.

"I believe he is arguably the third greatest player in the club's history and hopefully that will be factored into the negotiations."

I have to agree with the negoitiators on this matter, sign him for 12 months and have a look at his form 30/6/2005 and assess his playing future then.We definetly need him for 2005 because we have nothing to replace him with surely the club can see that

2 years would be great.

3rd greatest player? not too sure about that myself. But he is up there.

is he the 3rd greatest player ever?

if we could sign Schifcofske, i'd say bye to peach. if we didn't get him, i'd give him another year

3rd greatest in the clubs history, not ever.

I don't think he would be rated that highly, but he's definitely up there ;-)

I'm in favour of the one-year deal.

He won't have the legs to go around again in '06 anyway.

wait. was peachey unhappy with the money or just the fact that it was only for 1 year :?:

would be risky signing him for three the club is doing the right thing.

i know there is alot of loyalty towards Peach but from the stats you can see that Schif is a quality player

i'm not saying he is better than Peach. i just think we can get more value out of Schif
