someone like Ben Te'o 3 years younger but ppl wouldn't say wait 2 years before laying the boot in....

Te'o is a lazy dog, at least Laurie has a go.

Look, Laurie has probably been overrated a little bit, but he's a work in progress and his aggression is something we sorely missed. I would rather Laurie give away a couple of penalties and continue to play his current style of game than watch the likes of Corey Payne and Bryce Gibbs get belted and pushed backwards everytime they take a hit up.

Bryce Gibbs made 55 metres yesterday, that is pathetic from a prop.

That figure included the distance from the dressingroom and back.

Give me Laurie over Teo any day, Teo has all the skills plus he is big and fast. Laurie is big and fast but not sure on the skills. Anyway Teo has absolute no ticker and is all about himself. Laurie has plenty of passion and no one can doubt his ticker.

Now if you want to talk about over rated playuers its hard to go beyond Teo

Well Mundine had the ball knocked out of hs hands. Laurie had the ball in his bread-basket and it just went straight through him. Can't really compare the two.

True but it proves he was the biggest hog in football when he had an unmarked man that he refused to pass to cause he was the biggest hog in football.

If Laurie is properly coached, he could turn out to be a very good player. Sadly, I think he's going to have to move clubs if he wants to be properly coached.

He'd do well at a club like Brisbane, Melbourne or Bulldogs. Forward orientated clubs that love to do the tough stuff up the middle.

all of lauries mistakes come from him being too enthusiastic. how many times do you see a prop being the only player supporting a 40 meter break? never.

yes it was a shocking blunder but he did well just to be there. what the f*ck our fullback and 5/8 were doing is anyones guess...

all of teos mistakes come from being a lazy piece of sh*t and not putting his body on the line.

give laurie teos skills and you would have the best forward in the game.

Forgive my ignorance but is he the dude who totally blew that try on the weekend?

If so.........even in my woeful career did I do anything nearly as bad.
Possibly the biggest fugup of the decade when it comes to blowing a certain try.
The biggest was Jason Bugarelli against the Warriors in 2003 which would have put them in the grand final qualifier.

I don't see all this "potential" that others do.

His hitups are pathetic, probably gets about 6 metres every time he hits the ball up.

If he had any idea about body height or footwork he'd be a handful with his size, but then again so would any guy that big.

If he is a homeless man's Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, then what does that make him, in respect to Sika Manu?

I don't see why he's so exciting, because he's got cool hair and he looks different?
He's got the same style as Anthony Watmough on a bad day, poor hands, grubbiness and penalties.
Honestly what makes Laurie any more exciting than Joel Clinton, both are big, run hard, give away penalties, drop the ball and have some grubbiness in their game, only difference is Clinton makes more metres and is white with normal hair

LOL

Aqua Duck was saying the Knights should sign Idris as a junior back in 2007.

Soz mate.

Fair enough, but I wasn't here in 2007 :D

I was just saying that because he keeps bringing up the dread-locks and skin colour as the reason why he is so hyped up. Daine Laurie is a pretty talented football player, I would give him two years before he is playing SOO football.

Its got nothing to do with race, I'm by no means racist, in fact I was a big critic of Hagan's back in the day because he never signed any big athletic Polynesians.
All I'm saying is he gets hyped up because he looks different.
Idris is in a different league to Laurie

I actually agree with you there. My younger brother is a massive Tigers fan and he goes on about Laurie all the time. The only reason he likes him is because he looks different, I actually like watching Laurie because I find him really fuuny on the field, he is so unco.
