OK! Who do YOU think will end up with the Dally M positional awards when season 2010 is done and dusted?

My predictions are:

Fullback - Jarryd Hayne
Winger - Nathan Merritt
Centre - Timana Tahu
5/8 - John Sutton
Halfback - Mitchell Pearce
Hooker - Nathan Friend
Prop - Roy Asotasi
Second Row - Ben Smith

Yeah I'm hoping Parra does what Canterbury did last year. As for Ben Smith, he is simply due. Was an awesome player in defence and attack whilst in the centres but is now plying his trade next to Hindmarsh since his injury. With Tahu back he will either go off or overseas!

How is he due?

Ben Smith is an average, average player. The only thing notable about him is that he constantly tackles high and somehow gets away with it.

There are at least 30 better second rowers in the NRL.

f**k me the rest of the nrl's backrow will have to die for that to happen

and thats coming from a parra fan...

ben smith was a fantastic centre and as a back rower wont be anything more than solid. He's only new to the position but in saying that he aint ever going to be a world beater

Using your reasoning if Ben Smith smashes every second rower in the head and out of the game in 2010 he is a sinch to win it. Especially when he gets away with it all the time! Just kidding.

As far as being average is concerned three different coaches have rated him good enough to play even when he is not at his best. He was keeping some tried and true 2nd rowers out of the team last year with inconsistent performances albeit with some moments of sheer brilliance in defence. Most of 2nd rowers have now moved to other sides so he is now due to show the faith put in him.

i think Bellamy will find it hard to win the coach of the year considering the players like slater, cronk, inglis, cameron smith in his team. And also people expect the storm to be in the grand final again

the way he could win if the storm win the minor premiership out right by a margin of 4-6 points clear of 2nd placed team,

maybe but i bet if a coach with a lesser side*for example say penrith gets on equal or just below the storm

that coach will be a better chance to be the coach of the year then Bellamy will

thats why i think it will be very hard for Bellamy to get the coach of the year ,
